Chapter 8: HOUSES

Cleo

The next day a lady knocks at my room and said that the ceremony is about to begin so I need to join the other freshmen to be assemble in a room at the end of the hallway.

I immediately follow her lead and grab my small backpack, I don't have many things in me since Aunt Silya just drag me here. I did not have a time to prepare nor to collect my things, thou I don't really have many in my possession just a few essential and important things.

Especially this gold locket-key necklace that I have been wearing since I was 6 or maybe even since I was so small. It has petals surrounding it just like the rays of a sun and a diamond at the very center. This necklace symbolizes my whole being, its the only thing I have to be able to find my parents if ever I have one. because deep within it feels like it somewhat connected to them.

I get out on the room and start walking at hallway to the room the lady said we should go. Then I notice that there are quite a lot of freshmen in here. Getting out of there room and start heading to the end of the hallway.

"Hey! You know i love your hair I even notice it the moment I get out of my room. Midnight black, too dark and too mysterious even" a red head approached me and said those things she walk at my side and even join me, I just look at her in slight confusion and shock.  I did not do my usual messy bun so maybe my long black hair is too noticeable

When I get over from my slight shock I smiled at her, maybe I could be able to find friends in here " auh haha thank you, you even notice that?"

I really does have a Midnight black wavy hair that reaches just on my elbows, a fair pale skin, emerald green eyes, small nose and thin rosy lips but a hell of a hard hand because of too much work.

" I really like your hair too, red as a rose that is in full bloom" I continued, she does have a lovely hair.

Hair as red as a fully bloom rose that reaches to her elbows, brown eyes, thick lashes, and a small pouty lips. Shes beautiful, too beautiful. And a cheerful one also she has full positive energy, I even think that she always smiles.

She smile widely then hooked her arm in me " really you think so?" Then her voice became sad "But sometimes i hate the color of my hair it always symbolizes blood. And blood is really not a very good thing"

"And mine symbolizes darkness also not a very good thing haha" I joked to lighten our conversation.

She giggled "yeah your right, maybe our hair symbolizes many bad things but let just embrace it bad things sometimes lead to good and positive ones"

" yeah" I agreed, her arms is still at my arms and we are now walking side by side.

" I'm Vivoree by the way Vivoree Esvanira" she said offering her other hand for a hand shake and smiled sweetly.

I accept it "I'm Cleo, Desire Cleo Tuazon but just call me Cleo"

"Odd name Desire hmm. Anyway Nice to meet you Cleo let be friends from now on ok" she smile widely "the other student here are just too hard and scary to approach" she whispered.

I can't help but laugh at her last statement  "I very agree with that and I'm too shy to even approach one haha"

She giggled "also you can call Ree, I will very much prefer that"

" Sure Ree" I smiled, and we arrived at the room we are suppose to assemble.

" ok is this all the first years? No left inside?" A lady in front of us speak.

Silence , no one said a word.

"Ok I will consider your silence that everyone is in here, I will begin to introduce myself. I am Madame Claudia Phorenxia, I am one of your teachers but for now just follow me to the dining hall where the ceremony will be held" She announce then begin to walk and we just follow her until we reach the main building.

We are now standing at a huge double wooden door that still has an elegant carvings in it. The doors open and we follow Madame Claudia inside.

There a two long tables each sides and a carpeted hallway at the middle of it. The table are full of students wearing their uniforms some are smiling warmly at us as if welcoming and some are just too snob to even look at us. I notice that each table has a lot of vacant seats in it.

Theres a large two Crystal chandelier elegantly hanging above the long dining hall casting a warm glow at us.

We walk until the very front and Ree's arm are still hooked in mind and I just let it.

At the very front of the dining hall there is a stage where a long table is in place. Then I notice that in the very middle Head Mistress Igraine is sitting comfortably with a warm smile plastered at her youthful face. Her eyes reaches me and she gave me a warm smile and I give her a smile also as an answer. That long table also has full of people but mostly grown ups and mature maybe they are our teachers.

When we reach at the very front Madame Claudia face us she is standing small at the small platform in the middle.

"Ok first years we will begin the ceremony for the assigning of houses that would perfectly suits you. This house will be very much like your family in this Academy throughout the years of your study. It would be able to help you develop  your abilities. Each houses are competitors when we have an activities and each houses could acquire points every now and then and it will sum up at the end of the school year. The winner will gain a price and the loser will also face a consequence. But remember we could also minus your point and deduct it at the whole score of the house base on your behavior and attitude inside and outside of the main building and even at your houses the in-charge still could be able to minus your points in there." Madame Claudia announce loudly.

"The competition is just valid at the school activities. Academic Standing is base on your year. Much of that you can freely befriend everyone even from other houses . Always remember 'We are one even we are divided because we are all a Yeoman of Lumiere'    

" I will call one first year and you will stand here in platform, your take a hand-full of ash from this bowl" Madame Claudia let us see the large bowl she were holding and she put it at the small table at the side of the platform.

" just throw the ash at your feet and there will be a fire that will surround you, Don't worry the fire won't hurt you physically it will just determine your house base of what color it will show" she just continue talking

Madame Claudia explained the houses "Here are the following houses color and traits for you to be part of the house:

Penumbra House- Yellow fire, Penumbra house consist of students that has a strong mind and will.

Haywood House- Green Fire, Haywood House consist of students that has a strong connection to nature, they can find everything in nature.

Puissance House- Red Fire, Puissance house consist of student that are strong physically and on the outside, sturdy and strong as the earth.

Nimbus House -Blue fire, Nimbus House consist of student that are flexible at everything and free just like the wind."

"Now let the selection of houses begins"
