Chapter 9: PENUMBRA

The selection of houses begins, and my hands are now sweaty and cold. In what house will I be assigned? I wonder. Ree notices my cold hands.

She looked at me as if asking if I am ok, i just nob and smile at her. She intertwined our hand that are hooked and squeeze my hand gentle she did not even complain about my hard hands.

" everything will be alright, I just hope that we will be in the same house" she comforted me. She looked at the front again where the ceremony now takes place.

" Lorenzo Wooblestone" a blond hair boy with bright blue eyes, strong jaw but with a kind face step into the platform a sweet smile is plastered in his face as he face us. He immediately catch my attention, his feature even at a young age is godly. A boy next door indeed.

I notice that the first year girls look at him with a dreamy eyes not just them but also some senior students have the same expression. My mood immediately drops 'what a bunch of flirts' hey what am i saying? Arg.

I focus my attention again back to the stage and notice that he finish the ritual and now he is surrounded by blue fire just like the color of his eyes 'Nimbus'

The student claps their hands and he immediately go and sit on one of the vacant sit on the Nimbus table. He seems
delighted by the houses that is chosen for him, he smiles a lot and I like to see those smiles especially when his cute little dimples on his right cheeks shows hays.

"And why would my dear Cleo can't take her eyes off from that Lorenzo guy if I may ask?" Ree teasingly whisper at my ear when she notice that my eyes are glued to Lorenzo.

I feel like my face suddenly warms "Huh? No I did not look at, let just focus at the ceremony for now ok"

" ooooh, really? If you say so" Ree did not buy what I said and she just look at front again but still grinning to even tease me.

" Yna Wistledone" a mahogany color haired girl that reaches just in her shoulders and she also had a bangs, black eyes, small pink lips and innocent face step into the patform. She performed the ritual and now shes surrounded by a yellow fire 'Penumbra'

"Ymir Wistledone" a boy step into the platform, twins? they look too identical except his feature are just manly and unlike Yna his eyes speaks mischievousness. He even winks before he starts the ritual, they are in complete contrast but with an identical face. He is now surrounded by blue fire 'Nimbus'

"Vivoree Esvanira" I look at Ree beside me and she look at me as well, it her turn now. I smiled at her and squeeze her hands and she just took a deep breath. She took her hands and step into the platform. She performed the ritual and now she is surrounded by a yellow fire 'Penumbra'

She waves her hand at me and directly sit on the Penumbra's table.

I want to be a part of that house too.

"Dexie Veambrooca" a pink curly haired girl that reaches to her elbows, cool brown eyes, pouty red lips, rosy cheeks with an innocent face. The air around her speaks elegance and somewhat I think she is too pampered and spoiled. She steps into the platform and performs the ritual, she's now surrounded by green fire 'Haywood'

"Desire Cleo Tuazon" I feel like the air just left my body the moment my name was announced, I took a deep breath and step infront and into the platform. My eyes landed to Ree and she smiled at me to comfort me and I nob gratefully at her. I took a handful of ash from the large bowl on the side of the platform and when I was about to throw the ash theres a sudden feeling that someone is watching me. I raise my head and my eyes landed to a pair of electric blue eyes standing at very end of the first year student.
