I never thought I'd ever be happy to see Killua's mother... but I am.

"Lesser level assassin??" Isla scoffed, "How about you come and prove that to me."

In my head, all I wanted to do was get rid of this woman. She caused me so much pain! I was filled with so much rage... and I guess Killua could see that too because he took me to an open area away from the commotion.

"Killua! There's literally a fight about to happen out there! We can't waste any ti-"

Before I knew it his lips were on mine and his hands were cupping my cheeks. He kissed me slowly and his lips caressed mine with care like he was trying to make me calm down, which worked. He always knew how to.

He then lifted my head with a finger to look directly into his eyes,

"(N/n)... this may seem like your fight but it isn't. From what we've heard, this is only between my mother and yours. Whatever happened to them, they'll sort that out whether they have to fight or not." He rested his forehead on mine, "It's a lot to take in but I'm right here with you. We can try to have them talk things out but promise me you won't get hurt."

I smiled at his words. He was right, this wasn't my fight... I was just caught in the middle.

"I promise Killua."

He pulled away from my forehead and kissed it.

"Alright," He beamed, "Let's go see what's happening."

He gently put my hand in his and we returned to where our families were.

When we returned, Isla was kneeling on the floor as though she was exhausted, no bruises to be seen, and Killua's mother just stood there looking at her. The rest of my family wasn't there except for my father that looked at me as Killua and I returned. Maybe it was just me but his face seemed to become apologetic for a second before he refocused his attention to the scene.

Mother looked vulnerable and defeated and even though I wanted nothing to do with her anymore, I felt a twinge in my chest. I found myself wanting to know what was wrong, so I slowly made my way away from Killua and to my mother.

"What are you doing here you useless child??"

Her words always hurt but I was already used to it.

"Mother... I might be useless to you but I just wanted you to know that even though your punishments were so severe and I hated you for a while... a part of me still loved you." I breathed and blinked back tears, "You don't need to do this. You don't need to fight."

She suddenly pushed me away from her, "You don't know what I've been through because of this family!" She slowly got up off the floor and faced Killua's mother once again, "They have to pay for what they did to both me and my family's reputation!"
