The talk

My husband had suggested we should give our eleven year old 'the talk'. In no way is he ready for such topic, my husband believes the reason I'm put off is due to me not accepting that our son is growing up. As if I was going to admit to that. I've had some bad experience when my parents tried and failed miserably at 'the talk'. My mother would hand my brother and I a bible, and would go off on a tangent that neither of us listened. My father would just hand me a sex book, but what really disturbed me was witnessing my mother's partner performing sex act on the mail man. Can't even be in the same room whenever 'Please mister postman' is played.

Unfortunately, out of my husband and my control, our son may have witnessed us in the act a small handful of times. However, I've always managed to convince him that it isn't what it looks like, because I'm that much of a genius. He never questioned it further, so I must of sounded that convincing. My husband is never really good at thinking up some bullshit story on the spot.

I dread the day when he does reach that age, no doubt it'll be down to me to provide him with 'the talk'.
