A few weeks later, there was rehearsals for the battle round. I was up against Melissa, she's talented but I was quietly confident that I would win.
Today, I showed off a little bit to impress Kylie. It will increase my chances of going through if I impress her during rehearsals as well as the actual performance itself.
Once the rehearsal was over I had got my stuff and was about to leave when Kylie called me. "Jess. Can I talk to you a minute?" I turned round, I haven't done anything wrong, have I? "Yeah sure" I said as confidently as I could, even though inside I was absolutely terrified.
I walked over to her and she gestured for me to sit on the seat that was in front of her. I quickly sat down and tried to look as calm as possible. "Ever since your audition a few weeks back, everyone has been going crazy for you and understandably so, you're so talented, especially for your age. I know Ricky really wanted you on his team, he really likes you. Now I understand he's been making excuses to see you constantly."
That was true, I kept 'bumping' into him at every break and lunch break we had. I had to reluctantly talk to him every time. Kylie continued, "I want you to keep away from him. If you date him and the producers find out, you'll be kicked off the show in a heartbeat. Then the media will certainly find out and you won't escape it then."
"I don't even like him anyway." I replied, Kylie smiled at me.
"That's the way to be." Kylie said still smiling at me.
Soon after that I was allowed to leave for my hotel room. I needed some time to myself. I got into the the hotel lobby and into the lift. "Hey Jess." A familiar voice came from the right of me. Ricky.
"What is it?" I asked impatiently.
"I just wanted to give you these." Ricky moved his hands from behind his back to reveal a hundred red roses. "You can't do this." I said trying to keep calm.
"Do what?" Ricky asked with mock innocence. I sighed and when the doors of the lift opened I walked as quickly as I could to my hotel room and slammed the door shut behind me.
I quickly texted Kylie explaining what has just happened and she was round here like a flash.
