CHAPTER 11: THE RETURN MEMORIES

River POV

The very next day, was the first round has begun. Everyone gathered around and to my surprise our king, Chuuya-jiisan appeared before us sitting on his throne while his right throne remains empty. All of bowed down before him, finally he spoke. "People of Music, I, King Chuuya, declare THE MUSIC BATTLE UNIVERSE begun! This first round will be about solving the crime scene provided for all of you."

All of us cheered, his was raise for moment and we were all calm down. "Today let me introduce two of our greatest detectives who shall be our judges. Edogawa Ranpo and Kudou Shinichi." Both of the greatest detectives appeared right before our eyes and sat down on the seats that were provided for them.

"In this crime scene, a victim, Takeyo Kunikofu was killed in the store room with a large cube of cement blocking the only door with other exits. And your job is figure out the culprit with only this picture. Including their motive for this crime." Ranpo-sensei showed the only picture of the crime scene and all got excited quietly.

"And here are the suspects. Suspect number 1 and 2 which are only person knew about the victim. You have an hour to solve." Said Shinichi. I could tell mostly the one that loves to cheats would be Jungmin. Somehow, he managed to be avoid from the elimination since he just a child.

"And if you think you can cheat again, well you're wrong! This time, we are one step ahead of ya! Let me present ya, Q-squad, Balam, and Dazai Osamu."

"Yo, Chuuya- san~. Long time no see." Dazai replied with a cheerful sound. Apparently, all of us knew they would fight and we got used to it. And so the first round has begun and everyone went back to their room to solve the crime.

Boboiboy POV

When all of us went to our room to solve the mystery, River and I went to music room. "Hey, aren't we suppose to solve the crime scene?" I scoffed. He was just about to grab a violin as he replied. "Oh that, I already solve that."

I blinked twice to think back what he said. "I said I already solve it. Earth to Boboioby, you want to know?" I nod a lot since I want to know the answer. He explain it to me very carefully, and I kinda get what he meant. "But what is her motive?" I asked.

"Ah, that one you're on your own." He bluntly said to me. Eeehhh! How am I suppose to know the answer?! Though I thought for quite sometimes while listening to the violin. I was so focus that I did not enjoy the song. I raised my head up and saw the he pose as he plays the violin. Since when did he become so attractive? Has it always been that way?

Because you and I are the same person.

That voice where is it coming from? I look around and notice a girl that look a lot like me.

Soon the true you will return. Of course, the rest of the memories will still remain. Please let us both end this suffering together...

End this? The girl reveals an odd door. Its carving was very delicate and well handmade. I grip the knob and felt hesistant.

Why aren't opening the door? Don't you want know who you really are?

Yeah, I guess you're right. With that reply, I open the door and a bright white light blind me. All of my memories flow right back to me. Tears stream down my face, looking back the boy from my dreams. My chest was beating fast and more painful than I could handle it. After it ended, everything becomes blurry. I hear someone calling out my name.

Whose voice is it? Ah... it was River...then everything went black.

River POV

I played the violin midway and notice Minako's action. She was clutching her chest real hard and her breathing is very heavy. "Boboiboy, are you okay? Hey Boboiboy!" I shake her a little bit, out of the blue, she passed out, like something is making her really exhaust so fast. I look at my watch and we've got 50 minutes left. I lift her up like a bridal style and ran to the nurse office as fast as I can.

By the time I reach there, I kicked the door open and my father was shocked. "What the hell kid?! Can't you just knock the door?!" he scolds me. "Sorry dad, but I got an emergency." I place Minako's body on a bed and let my father to examine her body conditions.

It took a while but I was relieved when she has only a light headache. I sat right next to her and watch her until she wakes up. Time flies and her eyes starts to flicker a bit, her eyes tried to look around her surroundings and lock on me.

I hugged her and spoke shakenly. "Thank god you're awake. For a second, you gave a shock." She hugged me back, crying lightly. She whispered through ear, my heart drop a beat. "River nii-san..." I push her gently to have an eye contact. My hands are shaking, with unbelievable hope shines my soul as I spoke with tears in my eyes. "Did you really come back, Minako-chan?" I want reconfirm once more. I don't want this to be a dream at all. Not at all!

"I'm really back and I miss you so much, River." She pulled my jacket and both of our lips touch softly. It was for a moment until my mom saw it. "Kkkyyyaaaaaa~~~ Kyoko-chan, you got to see this! The lovers are finally come back." Both my mom and aunt squeal like fan girls, as if they were expecting this for so long.

"Well, you two little love birds better run, you've got 5 minutes left before the first round ends." Aunt Kyoko point her thumb towards the stage. Crap, I nearly forgot all about it! I quickly grab Minako's wrist and began to pick up the pace to the stage. Luckily, we made it on time. And out 200 pair of participants, only half of the participants pass the first round.

Now, the second round is just about to begin.
