SALVATION

Chapter 8

Minato hurried towards Konohas' large gates, desperate to catch up to his silver-haired student before said shinobi could do something stupid. For once luck was on his side as he saw the Hatake surrounded by the other Kage and Sannin, effectively stopping him from leaving.

"I need to go."

The voice was so demanding and cold that the people that had come to watch the spectacle quickly dispersed. Even Minato couldn't stop himself from feeling slightly uneasy, simply because all of his senses screamed danger.

"How many times do you want me to repeat myself?" growled A.

The large man was getting increasingly irritated by the stubbornness of the Hatake. And not for the first time he wondered what had possessed him to agree with that crazy plan. What annoyed him even more was that no one could tell him an answer as for why the Hatake wasn't a thirteen-year-old child, it would have have been so much easier to control him!

"Ma." Orochimaru pushed himself between the two shinobi before a fight could ensue. "Please behave yourself and wait for Hokage-sama."

"I'm here," shouted Minato as he finally reached the group. "I'm here."

"Sensei," Kakashi turned swiftly to the blond, his dark eyes staring at him expectantly. "Tell A-sama that I have to go to Suna immediately."

Before the Raikage could start ranting, Minato told the Hatake carefully: "A-sama isn't so wrong Kakashi. Before you run off, listen to our plan."

Orochimaru had knowingly put his hand on the time traveller's shoulder keeping him in place and Kakashi had no other choice than to listen to the village heads with gritted teeth as his mind played through one horror scenario after another.

Kami knows who could attack Suna right now and be after his students! It could be Madara himself, for kamis sake, and he was kept here because these fools couldn't let him do what he wanted. The Kage had his full respect, and he was glad to see that the villagers were closer than what they had been in his time but right now he couldn't care less about them. Why could nobody understand that this was crucial? Didn't they reanimate him because he knew the enemy better than them? So why were they stopping him now?!

"Did you listen to what I just said?" asked Minato the silver-haired man exasperated.

Though the shinobi only continued to stare in front of himself with an empty look.

"Kakashi?" the Snake Sannin shook the time traveller slightly and gave him a pitiful look.

He still couldn't really forgive himself for actually reanimating the time traveller. He'd have to talk to the man later.

"Huh?" yawning the silver-haired man stared at the group. "Did you say something?"

Whilst A and Oonoki had difficulties to keep their temper under control and Rasa just accepted the fact that perhaps the Silver Reaper wasn't fully sane, Yagura watched the entire scene with a delightful smirk. He had never expected Kakashi Hatake to be so entertaining! The man was never afraid of the title the other person carried. It was truly amusing to see him rile up A without breaking a sweat. And not to forget he had to power to back his behaviour up. The incident with the bijuu bomb earlier had just proven that he was truly as powerful as all the stories said.

Sighing annoyed, Minato started to explain again: "We received a message from Chiyo-sama that Suna was under attack only half an hour ago. I am going to take Rasa-sama with me and use the hiraishin to transport us to Suna. Thankfully, Rasa-sama allowed me to store a hiraishin marker in his office so I'll be able to make the jump. Considering that it is a long distance I'll be needing a couple of minutes to recover in Suna before making the jump back here. Then I'll take you, Kakashi, to Suna as well. After that I won't be able to fight until my chakra reserves are restored. And before you argue Kakashi, I'm taking Rasa first because unlike you, he is already armed. You have currently no weapon with you, not even a kunai since you were reanimated without any weapons. While I'm away you'll have time to get whatever you need so you can be in full armor when I'm taking you to Suna. Any objections? "
