"Then who are you?" Sadie asked, suddenly feeling embarrassed for her mistake.

"My name is Nico. . . Nico Di Angelo," the boy stated. "And you are?"

"Sadie Kane," Sadie replied, "Pleased to meet you. Are you, by any chance, friends with Annabeth."

Nico blinked. "How do you know her? I mean, why should I tell you?" he said, crossing his arms.

Sadie knew right then that Nico indeed knew Annabeth. She copied his move and crossed her arms too. "Well, maybe because I'm a friend of hers and I know everything about her," she huffed. "Now tell me about yourself, Nico Di Angelo."

Nico lowered his head to the ground. Sadie could've sworn she saw cracks appear. The Anubis look-alike then raised his head and said, "If I tell you about me, you'll have to tell me all about yourself. Swear it on the River Styx."

Sadie remembered Annabeth telling her something about the River Styx. Something like, if you make a promise on that river, then break the promise, you die. But she didn't see any harm in making a promise on some Greek River. She recalled the time when Anubis asked her questions after he gave her the feather of truth. They are really similar, she thought. Sadie locked her blue eyes with Nico's dark brown eyes, "I swear on the River Styx, now tell me about yourself already, or do I have to force you?"

"Fine. I am a Greek demigod, the only living son of Hades. I am the Ghost King. I helped the seven on their quest against Gaea. I can summon undead warriors, control the shadows, shadow-travel, and I'm still figuring out how to use my other powers. I am also the Ambassador of Pluto when I visit the Romans. Is that good enough?" he said, bowing to her mockingly.

Sadie was caught with surprise. "That's fine. I am an Egyptian magician. I'm the former host of Isis, I have restored Ra to his former glory, I have beaten both Set and Apophis. I also teach my initiates back at Brooklyn House to follow the paths of the gods. What else? Oh yeah, my dad is the current host of Osiris," she finished.

Nico nodded. "So what are you doing in a graveyard?"

Sadie was caught by surprise, no one has ever asked her that question. Especially when it's some demigod who looked like Anubis. "Oh you know... just relaxing, that's all. I like to spend time here, alone with no one to bother me," she answered. "What about you, why are you here? Are you on some quest or are you just finding some place to relax?"

"I just needed to talk to someone," Nico answered.

"Who?" Sadie asked, suddenly interested in what Nico was up to.

"I usually prefer to do this along, but if you really want to stay, feel free," Nico replied, with a sly smile forming on his face. "But if you run away screaming, or have nightmares for a week, that's your problem, not mine."

He walked to a certain gravestone. Sadie followed. Nico started digging a small hole next to the stone. Then he pulled out a McDonald's Happy Meal from his jacket and buried it. Then he stood up and turned to Sadie. He still wore his sly smile, "You better run because if she doesn't like you, there's a chance you won't survive."

Sadie scoffed, "I've probably seen way worse than whatever is about to happen, so get on with it."

Nico shrugged. He turned to the grave and began to chant. Sadie didn't understand what language it was, but she guessed it would most likely be Greek, since he's Greek and all. "Now raise and serve me, your king," Nico finished.

The ground split in front of them and a ghost flew out. Sadie stifled a scream. She had to show Nico that she could handle this. Nico gave her a quick glance and was amused to see that she was startled. The ghost turned to Sadie and her eyes flashed a dangerous red. Pieces of rock rose from the ground and aimed for Sadie's head. She ducked, barely saving herself.

"That's enough. Sadie Kane is not an enemy. I have something important for you to do." Nico pulled out an old looking scroll and opened it. Inside was something written in what looked like Demotic symbols. "I'd like for you to translate this," Nico said, placing the scroll in front of the ghost.

The ghost glided to the scroll and read "Egyptian, Greek, Norse, Roman. Go to the Land of No Man. Find the treasure. It brings anything but pleasure. Complete the King's goal. Before civilization takes its toll."

Nico, who had been scribbling on a piece of paper in weird symbols, looked up. "Thank you for your service. Now rest in peace." Sadie thought it was ironic that Nico was telling someone who already died to rest in peace.

Nico folded up the paper and tucked it away inside his pocket. "Well, it was a pleasure meeting you, Sadie Kane. I have to get this back to Annabeth, so-"

"Wait!" Sadie cut him off. "You only came to this place to ask some ghost to read something for you?"

"Well, that's the only reason why I'm here in particular, all the other ones are across the world and I'm not going to shadow-travel that far. Especially when demigods aren't supposed to be near the 21st Nome." Nico said impatiently.

"How do you-" Sadie started.

"Annabeth," Nico replied. "But if you want... maybe we could go to someplace to eat? I'm kind of hungry and it's past noon, so..." Nico said, looking a bit nervous.

A smile broke on Sadie's face, "Of course I want to. I barely ate anything for breakfast. Who knew we were here so long? So, where should we go?"

Nico relaxed. "I know a place." He held out his hand. Sadie gave him a quizzical look. "Um... I was planning to shadow-travel us there, and in order to do that I need you to hold on to me," he added.

"Oh, okay," Sadie said. She grabbed Nico's hand and before she knew it, everything around her has dissolved.
