Kidnapped

Chapter 17

I still can't believe that no one has noticed me gone and called the cops. I tried to sit up in the bed but I couldn't. I couldn't feel anything. So I decided to ring the buzzer next to me that calls a nurse down. That's when I saw something move in the corner of my eye. I slowly looked in that direction and saw a camera. It was focused on me. Who has cameras in a hospital? A nurse came in as I was looking at the camera. It was Diane.

"Oh, um ....... That's just a smoke alarm. Don't worry about it. Anyways, what did you call me down for?" Diane asked me.

"Um I want to sit up but I can't. I can't feel anything. Well actually I can feel my hands and arms and move them but I can't "feel" anything." I said making air quotations when I said feel.

"Well let me check it out. I'm going to help you sit up, OK?" She said in a sweet voice as if she was talking to a 2 year old.

"I'm not 2 but OK"

She helped me sit up which felt good. I didn't know how long I was in the hospital for. I knew it had only been 2 hours since I had woken up and I don't know how long I had been in there before that.

"How long have I been in the hospital?"

"About 3 days now. You slept for 2 and a half days. You woke up a couple hours ago. This is your third day in here and we might have to keep you in here a little longer if that's OK with you dad"

No,no,no,no,no! I can't go back to Jason and Hunter.

"He's not my dad"

Her head shot in my direction "yes, he is definitely your father. We have all of the paperwork."

What paperwork? "OK, I'm pretty sure I know who my dad is. I want a phone right now." I demanded.

" I'm sorry Alison, but we can't give you a phone." With that she walked out of the room.

Something's going on and I can't figure it out. I decided to watch TV when I saw the camera move again. I pushed the button and waited for the nurse.

A couple minutes later the nurse walked in. It wasn't Diane though.

"What do you need?" She asked.

"Well, I would like to know why there is a camera watching everything I do."

"W-well umm it's not a-" I cut her off.

"Don't tell me it's not a camera because I know dam well that that is a camera"

"It's a-a-a well um it's a smoke alarm" she said.

"Really, let's test it out, if it's a smoke alarm."

"How are we going to do that?" She questions me

"Bring in a couple of matches and well light them and then blow them out and then we will put it by the "smoke alarm""

"Ok, if that's what you want" she says and leaves.

I waited for about an hour and she never came back so I decided to push the button. When the nurse walked in it was the same one who said they will go get the matches. She had the matches in her hand.

"Why didn't you come back. I've been waiting here for over an hour."

"I have other patients to treat but I have your matches for you." She hands me the matches.

I little and handed them to the nurse to blow out and then put by the camera. She walked over to the camera in the corner of the room and blew the matches out. She held them by the camera for about 5 minutes until all of the smoke from the matches were gone. Nothing happened. There were no beeps of any kind. It was silent in the room.

"A smoke alarm ,huh" I said sarcastically.

"It must be out of battery's "

"It's not, just admit it, it's a camera"

"It's not a camera, it's a smoke alarm"

"No it's not, if it's a smoke alarm why didn't it go off when you put smoke by the smoke alarm"

"I don't know, like I said, it must be out of battery's."

"Ok, I'm not going to argue with you, I know it's a camer. Get out of my room, you harassing me." I said.
