Lost Was An Understatement

Friday 7pm

Yana poked at her food at the dinner table. Jamie and her aunt looked at her worried. "Why aren't you eating?" Jamie said. Yana sighed and left to go to her room. "Hey wash your dishes first! It's your turn today!" She ignored her aunt. "Its ok mom, I'll clean it." His mom nodded.

After eating Yana's aunt knocked on her door. "Who is it? And what do you want?" "That's no way to talk to your aunt is it?" Yana's eyes widened. "Sorry I thought you were Jamie! Come in!" When she walked in, Yana was under the covers. "Are you okay?" Yana gulped, trying to hide the fact she was crying. "Uh yeah. Don't worry." Her aunt then closed the door and walked downstairs to talk to Jamie.

"Go ask her what's wrong? She's crying." Jamie yelled out quietly. "What do you mean?! She never cries!" "Well maybe something really upsetting happened today so go comfort her!" Jamie nodded. "I will."

"I'm going in Yana." Yana sighed, still hiding under the blanket. "What are you doing under there?" "Get out of my room Jamie?" "Why were you getting dressed for something when I came in?" Yana yelled. "No I wasn't!" Jamie could hear the crack in her voice and sighed, he took the covers off of her head and Yana's eyes were swollen. "Why are you crying?" Jamie sat on the edge of her bed. "The people I met today.. for some reason it hurt me alot!" Jamie cleared his throat. "What did they say?" Yana replied "they say a few things." Yana thought about it again, the memory flashing through her head.

"You don't have to be that person again."

Yana threw her empty strawberry milk in the trash, and went back to Terrance. She looked him in the eye. It was hard for him to do so.

"But then how will you guys accept me this way? I'm not nice. Like I said I'm the opposite of what you just described."

Terrance smiled and shook his head.

"I think your nice, you just make yourself seem like the way you want."

Yana was speechless. "I'm n-nice?"

"If your old self was nice, I believe the new you will not change too much. Your still the same." Yana sighed.

"You talk too much. I'm leaving."

After explaining what was stuck in her mind, Jamie said "Yungso let Terrance talk to you?" Yana nodded. "Do you know him?" Jamie thought about what he was gonna say and said "I do, you and your other friends were close before like they told you.." Yana nodded. "But that can't be the reason you cried. You don't cry so easily.. What is it?" Yana laid her head on Jamie's shoulder. "Johan, he broke up with me." Jamie sighed. "He did that?" Jamie was a little shocked because he knew Johan loved Yana alot, but he knew Johan could possibly be the type to do such a thing. "Why did he?" Yana then broke down in tears. Jamie hugged her.

"You b**ch!"

After school, Yana went to walk around the city, but didn't plan to see her boyfriend and some girl with him. He lived 3 hours away, so it was hard for her to think she saw him. Then when she got a closer look and realized it was him, she yelled out to the woman.

"Y-yana! You moved here, you didn't tell me??" Johan had a nervous grin on his face, he pushed the girl away, walking closer to Yana. Yana slowly walked backwards.

"You cheater! How could you do that to me?!" Yana yelled, shaking. She teared up but didn't let the tears fall.

"Your misunderstanding things!" He glared at the girl, while she just smirked. Yana froze in her place, not being able to move anymore because of how hurt she was. Johan could see her pain despite her not shedding any tears, but he saw the tears locked up in her eyes. Johan came closer and hugged her.

"G-get off of me! Why did you do that to me? Was it because you lacked love?! Because I wasn't there!?!" Johan let go and held her hands. "Yana, my love. You have to hear me out." Yana pushed him away and yelled "I HATE YOU!" Johan stood there frozen as she ran away.

"Seems like you had a girlfriend?" Johan turned around. "And who are you?! Why did you kiss me?!" "I didn't see why not." Johan grabbed her arm and brought her somewhere, where no one would see them.

"What's wrong with you?" He glared at her. She just rolled her eyes. "My ex was looking my way, and you seemed like the perfect person to use." Johan was speechless. "You better get out of my face before, I kill you." She took that as a warning and ran away. Then it was his turn, he silently cried there where no one would see. He wondered how he'd get Yana back after what happened.
