It's been few months since the visit from Hunter's grandparents and it's been really peaceful during that time. There were no rogue attacks, no hostile Undeads and no troubles whatsoever.

Apart from our little monsters not letting us sleep.

They're really fussy and they keep crying and screaming all the time. Adrian is hungrier that ever, needing to be fed Hunter's blood around 20 times a day. He drinks about a gallon of blood daily and I'm scared that it'll affect Hunter's health. He always shrugs it off, but it's still worrying me.

Stephanie also changed a little. She hates being left alone. I have to keep her with me at all times, no matter what I'm doing or she yells her lungs out. Adrian still keeps cuddling with her when they sleep, but when my little princess is awake, she's a total mommy's girl. Or grandpa's, cause she really likes to be in his arms.

Dad's been helping my mate a lot with the pack's business, just like Luna Angel asked him to – he explained that after Luna left. He didn't say why she left so suddenly, but I think my mate knows the reason.

"Hello, love." My lovely mate greets me with a hug from behind as I make dinner. Ruby's been teaching me how to cook and finally I got the basics mastered.

"Hi, babe." I turn my head to give him a kiss. "Where're the kids?" I ask, when I don't see them with him.

"They're with Brian. He took them for a walk." Hunter leans his chin on my shoulder, trailing kisses over my neck and the side of my face.

"Oh, okay." I moan when he finds that sensitive spot on my neck.

"So, we have the rest of the day for ourselves... and I know I've neglected you lately, busy with all the work." He whispers hotly into my ear, nibbling on the shell of it seductively.

"More like you need attention cause you feel neglected." I tease, grinning when my mate groans in agreement, squeezing me in his arms.

"You know you love it." He bites my neck, putting his hands under my sweater and trailing them over my chest.

"Damn it. I was trying to cook." I whine, turning off the stove under the soup I was trying to make. Leaving the food alone, I turn around in Hunter's arms, wrapping mine around his neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

As soon as we pull away from each other, Hunter picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder. I giggle uncontrollably as he marches towards the bedroom, slapping my butt occasionally as it jiggles with every step. I return the gesture by smacking Hunter's ass over his jeans, making him chuckle.

We make love many times, simply enjoying our free time. It's really rare that we get more than few moments for ourselves, so we make as much use of it as we can. And what better way to spend time with my mate than being worshipped and loved by him endlessly.

"What's going through that pretty head of yours?" Hunter asks as we rest after another love-making session.

"Nothing, just how happy I am." I smile lovingly at him, snuggling into his side with my arm thrown over his chest, trailing his smooth skin with my fingers.

"I can tell that something's wrong, love." He sternly says, reading me perfectly.

"I'm worried about the situation with your grandparents." I confess hesitantly.

"They're not my grandparents! They don't deserve to be called that." Hunter immediately snarls, getting angry at the mere mention of those people, but I know his anger is not directed at me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean that... – I press a kiss to his chest – I just don't like how they came here and tried to see the babies. Why did they do that? How did they know where to find you? How did they know about Adrian and Stephanie? It's been so long since they were here, but I can't stop thinking about it." I say everything that's been on my mind.

"I get it. Mom went to see how they knew about all that; she's calling every week with updates, so I know what's going on. Those people got someone informing them about mom's life and her time in the pack, but it's still unknown who."

"Really? I had no idea. But why would they do that? You told me how they treated her, so why the sudden interest?"

"I have no idea. But they had no right to come here."

"Yeah. I'm just scared that whoever it was that's helped them might be after you or Adrian, or Stephanie. You're a hybrid and they have your blood. What if someone tries to hurt them?" I feel my voice break as tears gather in my eyes. Just thinking about our babies getting hurt by some bad people breaks my heart.

"Hey, hey, hey. – Hunter sits up, pulling me into his lap – I won't let anyone get neither you nor our babies. You know that." He assures me with a kiss on my head.

"Okay, then." I give in, trusting my mate.

That of course doesn't mean I'm going to be a victim and let others protect me my whole life. That's why I've been pestering Ruby to help me with training secretly, so Hunter doesn't freak out. He'd have a stroke if he heard I'm putting myself in 'danger'. He's extremely overprotective.

But I love it.

I'm pulled from my thoughts by Hunter's phone ringing. I take it off the nightstand with an annoyed groan, handing it to my man sulkily, getting an amused chuckle from him.

"Hey, mom." I perk up at the mention of Luna Angel. "What's going on? ... You're kidding me! ... When will they be here? ... Okay, I'll get the warriors ready. We'll be waiting for them. ... No, mom, there's no need for that. You've helped enough. ... Okay, I know. ... I'll tell her. Love you, mom." Hunter keeps me in his lap through the whole talk, playing with my hair absentmindedly.

"Mom says hi." He tells me with a smile after hanging up.

"What's going on?" I ask, trying to put together the snippets of his talk I heard.

"There's trouble coming. Mom, Aiden and Asher found out who's been helping those two that came here. They're a part of some big pack of rogues and they're supposedly heading here."

"Why?"

"Because their Alpha is a power-hungry monster that wants to use hybrids' blood to create an army or something. I didn't ask for details, but we need to be ready for the worst." I gulp nervously, feeling my eyes widen in panic.

"They're coming here?" I gasp.

"That's what mom said. But don't you worry, no one is getting anywhere near you or the babies. I'll make sure of that." He calms me down with a kiss.

"I trust you. But we still need to be careful. Who knows what those people are planning." I wrap my arms around my man, sighing quietly.

Hunter seems to sense my distress, rolling us over so he's hovering above me, trailing kisses over my naked skin, getting me all hot and bothered again.

Guess we're not leaving the bed today.
