It's been three days since we encountered rogues from Lucas' pack and brought two of them into the dungeon. Angel and I overpowered them easily, those fuckers didn't even know what hit them. My Angel looked so beautiful with her bow and arrows, I barely had time to react. Not that I had to, since she's way stronger than me.
A lot of men don't like it when their woman is stronger than them, thinking it makes them less 'manly', but I love how powerful my Angel is. She's like a goddess amongst the mortals.
I'm carrying my Angel to the dungeon, where we'll interrogate the rogues, or rather – my Angel will. I have nothing against letting her take charge. She's the Luna of this pack, she's the one that suffered at the hands of the facility's boss, she's the one that he sought after for years.
Angel keeps playing with my hair as she sits on my shoulders, while Hunter and Pearl walk behind us. Pearl stayed with us for the whole three days, leaving Skye at the back of their mind. Apparently, Skye was perfectly fine with leaving her wolf in charge and stay back, and that's why we had to go through the ceremony with Pearl. It doesn't really matter, since they're one, but the pack was kind of surprised that it was the wolf, not the human that swears their loyalty to the pack.
"Open." I order the warrior in front of the door of the dungeon and crouch to let Angel get off my back before settling her on my hip and carrying her inside. I hear a quiet squeak behind us and I don't need to turn around to know he just did the exact same thing as me. Like father like son.
"Aww, would you look at that, they're crying." My Angel taunts, when she sees the prisoners. Oh, Angel, you're so bad.
"Release me, please! My mate's in pain!" One of the rogues cries out. "Please!!!"
"You mean the same mate that you abandoned when you went rogue? The same mate that you've forsaken when you betrayed your Alpha?! You have the arrogance to stand in front of me and tell me you're worried about your mate?!" Angel's furious. And I totally get it, the guy left his own mate to work with the man that's been torturing people for years and creating both Deads and Undeads against their will, but has the guts to whine about that in front of none other than my Angel, who suffered at the man's hands the most.
"She's my mate and she's in pain. Please! I was only following orders!!!" He wails.
"You've left your mate. You think that just because you say she's in pain, we will release you? Idiot." Hunter scoffs from behind me. Pearl just growls threateningly at the rogues.
I glance at the other guy, who's been quiet all this time. He's sitting on the floor with his back against the wall, no sign of emotion on his face as he stares at the floor blankly.
"What about you?" I ask.
"Why do you care, you're gonna kill me anyway." He grumbles, not even looking our way.
"You seem to misunderstand. We're not like you. If you provide us with a good reason for your actions, we'd give you a chance to redeem yourself. We might even speak to Alpha Lucas to let you back in the pack, since Victor is now dead and poses no threat." My Angel clarifies.
'Oh, baby, you're so bad, giving them hope like this.'
'I was serious, well, half-serious. I was only lying about letting them back into pack, but I would talk to Lucas about letting them see their mates before execution.' My mate sure is ruthless.
'I don't like how calm the tattooed one is.'
'Me neither, but the blonde did say his mate is in pain. Let's check out why.'
