He was the Sahabi who spent all of his time in the company of our beloved prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم), He preferred occupying his every second in the prophet's company, abandoning all occupations of the world including business and farming.
He lived in a portion of Masjid-un-Nabawi, amongst the poor Sahaba who had no home or family. They were called the 'Ahlus-sufa'.

Once Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه
expressed his fear and concern of forgetting ahadith, to Nabi صلي الله عليه وسلم. The Prophet S.A.W then asked H. Abu Huraira to spread out his shawl. Nabi S.A.W passed his blessed hands into the shawl and then asked Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه to wear it.
Since then, Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه mentions that he, had not forgotten a single ahadith.

Being amongst the destitute of Madinah, Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه preceeded any student of Deen due to his effort and dedication in acquiring knowledge.

After many years of trial and tribulations, the time arrived of course when the Muslims were blessed with great wealth and Abu Hurayra رضي الله عنه eventually got his fair share of wealth. It is remarkable to note that this turn of fortune did not change his personality in the least bit. Much of Abu Hurayra's رضي الله عنه time would be spent in Ibaadah, until the end of his life.

How blessed must it have been to witness the blessed house of Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه ? The house wherein no hour of the night would pass without Ibadah, dhikr and Salaat.
In the home of Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه it was a practice that, he would stay up for a third of the night, his wife for another third and his daughter for a third. (SubhanAllah)
