Amr bin Thaabit bin Qais رضي الله عنه

Did u know that there was a Sahabi who entered Jannah without even praying one Salah or fasting one fast?

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه used to often ask those around him, "Tell me about the person who entered Jannah without ever performing a single Salah?"

When the people were unable to identify the person, they asked Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه about him. Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه would then say, "He was Usayram from the Banu Abdul Ash'hal tribe, whose real name was Amr bin Thaabit bin Qais."

Usayram always refused to accept Islam when people invited him to it. On the day that the battle of Uhud was fought, it suddenly occurred to him to accept Islam, and so he became a Muslim. He then took his sword and entered the flanks of the enemy. There he fought bravely until a wound crippled him.

After the battle, as some people from the Banu Abdul Ash'hal tribe were searching the battlefield for their killed family members, they suddenly saw the wounded Usayram رضي الله عنه.

They exclaimed, "By Allah, this is Usayram! What has brought him here? We had left him behind in Madina for he refused to accept the Kalimah."

They therefore questioned him, "What has brought you here, oh Amr? Was it the fondness to your people or the devotion to Islam?"

He replied, "It was my devotion to Islam. I believed in Allah and his Rasool, accepted Islam, took my sword and marched with Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. I then fought until I was injured." It was not long after this that he passed away in their hands.

When the incident was mentioned to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم, he said, "He is certainly from amongst the people of Jannah."

Subhanallah! Can you imagine, he had never even had the opportunity of reciting a single Salah, yet he was so fortunate, for only one reason. He accepted Islam and his heart was sincere. There are many others who did lots of good deeds and fought lots of battles in the time of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, but because they had wrong intentions, they were not fortunate of achieving Jannah.

Yet, when Amr bin Thaabit bin Qais رضي الله عنه had sincerity and accepted Islam only for Allah's sake, then he is fortunate of entering Jannah without even performing a single ritual of deen! May Allah make us all from the people of sincerity. Aameen
