Confession

I haven't been to school for the pass couple of days.

I've still be eating and stuff, just not in school.

All my friends call and told me that we're going out.

After finding out what happens at Kai's house I just had to distance myself.

My train of thought is interrupted by the front door opening.

"How do you get inside my house?" I ask Jack as my friends walk inside.

"I was knocking on the door for ten minutes." Jack says.

"We have been worried about you, Cassidy. Eli says.

"Im fine." I say sitting ok the couch.

Everyone looks at me and they know Im lying.

"You haven't been to school." Jasmine says frustrated.

"Im getting worried and a little scared." Jasmine continues.

"You guys have nothing to worry about." I say.

"Whats going on with you?" Adam asked.

"And we want to know the truth." Vanessa says.

Just then I received a text. I take out my phone and the text is from Kai.

"You have been talking to Kai?" Jack says taken my phone.

"Dont you remember what he said about you? Do you not remember the whole fight at school?" Adam says.

"I have a good reason!" I yell getting up and taken my phone from Jack.

"Tell me the reason." Adam demands.

"It isn't any of your business. I say stomping to my room and slamming the door.

-Jasmine's Pov-

Cassidy and Adam were yelling at each other and this was new to everyone.

Sure they played fight and got on each other's nerves, but yelling like this was rare.

"What the fuck!" Adam says sitting on the couch.

-Cassidy's Pov-

I ran up to my room and called Kai.

He picked up and wondered why I didn't answer his text.

He asked if he can come over and bring Isaac, Rascal, and Gracie.

I told my parents about the situation and they completely understood.

My parents said they can move into the guest rooms we had.

I texted back saying he can come.

I put my phone down and hear a knock on my door.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Jack, can I come in?" Jacks asked.

I open the door and hug him immediately.

"Please tell me what happened." Jack says rubbing my back.

"I know y'all want to help, but you can't." I say letting go.

I hear a knock from downstairs and run to answer it.

"Cassidy, what the hell is he doing here?" Adam asked pointing to Kai.

"Shut up!Stop trying to start shit, Adam!" I say making the room quiet.

Kai is standing in my living room with Isaac, Rascal, and Gracie.

"Take the dogs out the back." Kai tells Isaac.

Isaac does ask he is told and takes the dogs out to the backyard.

"Kai will be living we me." I say when Isaac shuts the back door.

"You cannot be serious." Adam says.

"She is serious." Kai says.

I look at him and notice he has a bruised under is left eye and a busted lip.

I run to the kitchen to get the first-aid kit.

"Why though?" Vanessa asked confused.

"My dad is an alcoholic and has been abusing me, Isaac, and my mom." Kai says as I come back to the living room.

Everyone goes speechless and continues to listen.

"One day me and Cassidy were hanging at my house and my dad came home drunk. He called Cassidy a slut and we fought." Kai says.

Kai looks at me to keep going so I can heal his busted lip.

"Kai told me to go upstairs and I heard someone getting slapped. Kai came upstairs and saw me crying and told me to not tell anyone." I say.

"The only people who knew were my parents." I said.

"Why were you to hanging out?" Adam asked.

"I was giving him a chance." I say closing the first-aid kit.

The room goes quiet and for a few minutes nobody says a thing.

"I'll bring our bags inside." Kai says going to his car.

"Cassidy, Im sorry." Adam says giving me a hug.

Everyone joins the hug.

"How long will he live with you?" Jack asked.

"For three months, thats when he turns eighteen." I say.

Everyone goes outside to help bring in Kai's, Isaac, his mom, and the dogs stuff inside the house.

There was a few bags to get and we were done in twenty minutes.

"Cassidy!" I hear Kai calling my name.

"Thanks you so much." He says giving me a hug.

"I'm just trying to help." I say.

"You did more then help." Kai says leaning forward.

I lean forward and we kiss.

-Adam Pov-

"First they're gonna live under the same roof. Soon the same bed." I say freaking out.

"After all that, you're worried about that?" Jasmine says throwing a couch pillow at me.

"If you like her so much, go tell her." Jack tells me.

I get off the couch and walk outside.

I stop in my tracks when I see Cassidy and Kai kissing.
