No Clue

November 20, 2018

     And to my surprise, I walked out of the room to see Vinny getting handcuffed. My eyes flooded with tears. 

"What are you doing to him?! Take those off of him!" I started to storm towards the officer and Vinny. Callum easily stood in front of me and pushed me away. "Vinny you didn't do it! There is no way he did it!"

"Lexi, I did it." I stared at him. I fell to the floor. My knees became so weak. I leaned against the closest wall to me. My life felt like it was being destroyed right in front of me. I was pregnant with Vinny's child and now he was going to jail. I was going to be a single mom. The only way I could have this child was if he was with me. And on top of that, I lost my other best friend as well. I had to ask him about it.

     The next day, I went to visit Vinny. I asked Callum if I could visit Vinny. He said I could since we were getting married. I don't know why, but I got to get this closure.

     I walked into the room. Vinny was handcuffed to the table. I knew Callum had been on the other side of the glass just in case Vinny did anything. Vinny sat there. I could see the pain and guilt in his eyes. He really did this. Not only to Kelly, but to me. I wanted to know why. He wouldn't just kill her to kill her. 

"You cheated." I wanted to know why he did this. Vinny hurt me. I wasn't gonna leave without an explanation. "And it was with Kelly." I hadn't sat down yet. I was too scared to face him, to face the truth. 

"I did. It just happened."

"When? When did it happen?" I had finally taken a seat.

"I can't remember when it started. We did it multiple times." I tried to stop myself from crying, but I couldn't hold it back anymore. These pregnancy hormones were messing me up. 

"Oh my god. How could you do that? No excuses. Why?"

"I liked her before I liked you. But she rejected me. Once she saw me with you, she wanted me. I was in love with you. I thought I could have it all, but I couldn't." I leaned on the back of the chair. Now was the big question.

"Why did you kill her?" He sighed and took a second to respond. I saw him collecting his thoughts. 

"She was going to tell you. And I couldn't deal with the fact of you knowing. Especially since you were having pregnancy symptoms. I just knew you were pregnant. I was right, I guess." I stared at him with disgust.

"I have never felt so disgusted in my life with someone. How did they even find out that it was you?"

"Kelly was pregnant, too. They suspected it was me from some evidence at the crime scene. But, when they tested my DNA to the baby, it was a match. Giving them more reason to make me the killer."

"I'm done. I don't want to see you ever, again." I stood up and stormed out of the room. Tears flowed from my eyes. 

"Lexi, wait!" He shouted from the room, but I ignored him. I didn't want to hear him say anything else. Callum followed me. He grabbed my forearm.

"Lexi, come here."

"No! You have no clue what I'm going through right now!" He sighed. I let him continue to grab my forearm. Something felt right about it.

"The funny thing is I do." I shook my head.

"How?"

"My wife was murdered."
