The world is not kind to everyone. No, it takes from every soul until they finally move on into the afterlife. That's where the mortals are fortunate because even with the world constantly taking from them, they can leave and go to a place where they're free from the chains that the ground covered then in. The world shouldn't be destiny but it is, at least for mortals. Yet even if this cycle is advertised as beautiful; it is all a lie. Life and death used to be at peace, a friendly duo. Now they're at war and it's slowly going to peak in year's time.
Some people are immortalized by others; making them believe that they are not mortal. The fame that consumed them has given them eternal life. You are not eternal, but your life will be immortalized by the stories the new generation tell of your past.
That doesn't mean there aren't immortals in the world. There are gods in the shadows that lurk around each passing day. Thor and Loki were prime examples of what is hidden from mortal life. Of what mortals will never have; will never be.
Immortality is in everyone until proven wrong; everyone just forgets that it isn't and excuse to get yourself killed. Everyone forgets that true immortality will never be true. For even gods can die, heroes too. The god's time can only come by another's hand.
Only the strongest mortals are deemed worthy to be ageless. For no one can live forever, they are just ageless and until proven mortal...
Because of this, we've forgotten that we can bleed. That we could die even after surviving two world-ending wars.
Percy will never make that mistake again, for Nico was the soul symbol of what will happen.
"We survived two wars, it's not like a little thunder and rain will kill us now." His dark eyes filled with confidence as they overlooked the true dangers in god's wrath, "Those people are going to get seriously injured if we don't do anything! All we're doing is given the others more time to calm down Zeus and Poseidon." The two brothers seemed to stare at each other both confident, yet one fearful.
He was on his Honey-moon with Annabeth. He was being cautious about not wanting his wife to kill him herself. Percy knew he had to save those islanders from his father's and Zeus's own wrath, but Annabeth seemed scarier at the moment. He can hear the god's argument from where he stood, on top of a cliff overlooking a city that will end up drowning into oblivion. The shouts and pure anger will forever scar his mind. Nico had asked for his help in protecting the people of the island from the gods.
Percy's forehead touched Nico's and the two brothers, through their unbreakable bond, smiled, "Let's go save some people."
—Hurry! We don't have much time! I'll hold them off, go stop that tsunami from reaching land!
They had forgotten about death and had paid the price.
"It hurts."
His words echoed around the room, but before anyone could respond an explosion went off. Soon red flashed everywhere, the alarm was on and alerting everyone on the helicraft what was happening.
Finally, Fury noticed that two protocols were sounded. When he turned to where Percy once stood, the demigod was gone; leaving small cracks where he was.
Tony and Steve raced to engine one. Both working together to try to get the propellers working again. What they seem to have forgotten was that this was no accident and someone had blown the engine up.
Natasha looked Bruce in the eyes and feared her life. Her words had triggered the Hulk to come out for her. She was afraid and in her fear she ran, hoping to not get crushed by the green giant that chased her with all it might. At this moment she wasn't thinking about anything else, she didn't even notice the ground shaking beneath her. She thought it was just the Hulk, but she was wrong.
Thor quickly went to find the Hulk before it consumed the whole Helicraft. Hoping to stop him from killing anyone.
They had all forgotten about one person. Who made their way out on the deck. His eyes closed as he kept his hands over his ears. His emotions were unbearable, and could not be mellowed out this time. The demigod's powers were going to explode.
Before anything humongous could happen, Annabeth was next to him, holding herself up the best she can. She didn't move to touch Percy, she couldn't with the mindset he had right now. Whatever Loki did have work for she could see the tears that were trying to come from his eyes.
Taking in a breath, the daughter of Athena was happy that Fury was moving the helicraft towards, water, "Percy! Please fight back! If this continues you'll destroy the whole helicraft." Annabeth can't see if her ex-husband heard her. She only hoped he did but before the demigod could continue her comfort, another propellor went down.
"Percy!!"
Yosh, another update so quickly? I must be on a roll. Actually no, I'm waiting on something so it's giving me a lot of time to write. As you can see I'm in love with the idea that holding in emotions causes people's powers to become a bomb of sorts. It's actually one of my favorite things because it shows the reality that even with powers they're human, yet no one will see that truth. I mean if you have powers it's like no sees you, they only see the power you have! So when you have someone who only cares for you as a whole and not just your powers you got to hold on to them!If you have any theories go ahead and comment on it! I like reading what you guy thinks! I also take suggestions for future chapters! That doesn't mean they'll happen, though! Just to clarify.
