Joanne- One word challenge

Stupid

"Sometimes you are so stupid.' Joe's words echoed around Dianne's head. She had always believed that about herself but she never though that Joe would say it to her. She had walked off the minute that he had said it to her and gone straight to their room. She could see from his face when he said it that he knew he had crossed a line but she didn't care. He was aware that it was the thing that she was most conscious about and he had thrown it straight back in her face. She sat on the bed and stared off willing herself not to cry. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't stop the tears from falling down her face.

She had been crying for a few minutes when she felt the bed dip next to her. She felt Joe place his arm around her but she shrugged him off not wanting comfort from him when he was the one that made her feel like this. She felt his arm leave her but he remained next to her on the bed. After a couple minutes of silence she heard Joe speak. 'I'm so sorry' he said 'I didn't mean what I said I was just annoyed.' Dianne took a deep breath and turned to look at him. 'You really hurt me' she said. 'I know I did and I promise you I did not mean what I said.' 'You must think it otherwise you won't have said it' Dianne replied. 'Honest I don't know why I said it. You might not know some stuff but you are very smart in a lot of different ways. You can come up with very complicated dance routines and perfect them. You can teach people who have literally never danced a day before in their life and make them look like they know what they are doing. You have a very kind heart and always look out for people that are important to you. I promise you I did not mean what I said and I am so so sorry. I love you so much' Joe said.

Dianne could feel her facade drop the more Joe said. And she knew that she couldn't stay mad at him for much longer. She looked into his eyes and could see that he meant every word that he was saying to her. 'I forgive you' she said 'and I love you so much as well.' Joe breathed out in relief as he opened his arms to Dianne and she lent into them. He wrapped his arms around her placing a gently kiss on her forehead. 'I love you so much never forget that' Joe said as they cuddled up together for the night.
