Joanne- One word challenge

Cat

Joe and Dianne where currently laying on the sofa in their new home watching a film on the tv. They where snuggled up together under a blanket enjoying spending time together. It got to halfway during the film when Joe heard a noise that sounded like scratching on the door. He turned to look at Dianne and said "did you hear that." She stayed quiet for a minutes listening out for the noise and when she didn't hear anything she said "no." Joe grabbed the remote and paused the film just as the sound started again. "I can hear it now" Dianne said "what do you think it is." "I have no idea" Joe said "but I'm gonna go check it out." Joe got up of the chair Dianne grabbing his hand and standing half behind him as they made their way over to the door. He let go of Dianne's hand and unlocked the door before taking a hold of the handle and pulling the door open.

Both of them looked down as they saw something jump over their feet and make its way into their living room. Dianne jumped grabbing hold of Joe's hand again. They made their way back to the living room to see a little cat laying on their fluffy rug in the middle of the living room. Dianne let go of Joe's hand and went and sat on the floor next to the cat reaching her hand out and stroking it. "Aww its so cute" Dianne said "who do you think it belongs to." "No idea" Joe replied "maybe one of the neighbours." Just then the cat got of the rug and curled up on Dianne's lap gently purring. "Aww I want one" she said looking up at Joe. "It is adorable" Joe said coming to sit down next to Dianne reaching his hand out and stroking it.

Just then they heard a gently tap on the front door and Joe quickly stood up making his way to the door. He opened the door and Dianne could hear a hushed conversation. Just then Joe walked back into the living room with a middle aged women following him. "Di this is Julie our next door neighbour, Julie this is Dianne my girlfriend. I think the cat belongs to her." Julie got down on the floor next to Dianne and gently stroked the cats head "she loves attention will go anywhere she can get it." "She is absolutely adorable" Dianne said "made me want to get one myself."Dianne stood up picking the cat up with her before handing it over to Julie. "Lovely to meet you both" Julie said "I better be getting back." "Lovely to meet you too" they both replied. Julie made her way to the front door and left.

The next morning Joe and Dianne where both up bright and early making their way to a cat shelter to get a cat of their very own.
