The Minotaur stood at the bottom of the hill. He was accompanied by another cloaked figure. Nyssa mentally groaned. She wasn't trained at all! There was no way she could fight either of these guys.

"Help!" the kid running from them called. His back was turned and he stumbled as he fell. Scrambling up the hill, he continued to distance himself from the monsters.

Come on Nyssa! People are in danger. Just scream.

Nyssa took a step forward and then another. She could hear blood roaring in her ears. She took a breath.

"Cover your ears!" she rasped.

She couldn't see the boy's face but his hands came up to his ears. Nyssa took a shuddering breath, preparing herself for the pain as she continued to march down the hill. Her hair fluttered behind her as she stopped. The boy was behind her, out of range. Who's the boss? You're the boss! Come on Nyssa!, she mentally shouted at herself.

Suddenly, Percy came over the crest of the hill.

"Nyssa!" he yelled.

"Stay back!" she boomed. Her voice sounded distorted and slightly melodic which was surprising. Oddly enough, Percy froze, right where he was. Sword half drawn. Nyssa turned back to the enemies and opened her mouth. She was dimly aware of a horn being blown but the world went on mute.

She inhaled and screamed. A powerful blast pure sound. She shut her eyes and channeled all her energy. Her fear, her terror, her confusion and her anger. The loneliness, the odd ball feeling, the out cast mindset. Her anguish, her pain and her sorrows in one single note. Her throat felt like it was being ripped open but she had to stop the cloaked figure from reaching anyone. Peeking one eye open, she saw the Minotaur explode into glitter, just as the cloaked figure passed out under the pressure of her attacks. The dark form lay sprawled on the grass. Nyssa stopped. She could, barely see straight but she turned and saw people watching. Black spots danced across her vision and she coughed. Scarlet red blood flew from her mouth. She was aware of it dribbling down her chin as she turned to the new person. He stood there, eyes wide. As he came into focus, her blood chilled. It was him. Nyssa sheepishly waved before doubling over in another coughing fit. When she managed to stand, her voice failed her. Darkness crept in the corners of her sight.

"Nyssa?" David said, his voice wavering. And then, Nyssa passed out again.
