Jason could barely stand but he mustered his strength as soon as Draco pulled out the knife. Nyssa tensed up, her hand around Draco's wrist. Thunder echoed through the room, to his surprise. Jason was certain it wasn't him. Dark wisps of clouds swirled above Draco's head. Percy glanced at him. Jason shrugged helplessly. He was clueless. Draco must have been doing it. Beside him, Percy looked ready to fly at Draco. Jason pulled him back and attempted to reason with Draco. Draco smirked and pulled the knife tighter.
Then all hell broke loose.
A blinding lightning strike hit Draco. The newly toasted Draco released Nyssa who collapsed to the floor, panting.
David tackled Draco, pinning him to the floor. Jason's vision swam but he grabbed Draco's flailing arms. Draco muttered something and both boys were blasted backwards. David hit a row cabinets that broke on impact. Wooden splinters flew through the air. Jason was pushed down to the floor nevertheless, he pulled out his sword. The gold metal glinted as Jason managed to get up using the sword as a cane. Draco leapt to his feet and pulled out yet another stick. Jason raised his sword.
"παραλύω!" Draco yelled, pointing it once again at a stunned Jason.
Jason groaned as he recognized the cheery word for paralysis. He dodged but it grazed his arm and pain exploded from there. It was way worse this time. Jason stumbled back, watching the scene unfold before him. His sword arm stiffened and his knees crumpled. His sword imbedded itself in the hardwood. He lay on the floor, numb. David had successfully dodged Draco's attacks and was now playing a high stakes game of dodgeball but with light. Draco's attacks exploded cabinets and beds. Glass shards glittered on the floor. David threw a flask of nectar at the enemy only for him to explode it midair. Nectar rained down and the demigods got boost of energy. Wherever the nectar landed on Jason, he could feel again. Draco hissed in pain when a drop of nectar hit exposed skin. It sizzled like acid. David advanced on Draco. Punching and kicking, David aimed to hurt. He was armed with a scalpel from one of the ruined cabinets. Percy had pulled Nyssa behind an overturned table where she rested. Percy glanced at Jason, confused. Jason, merely stared back, unable to respond.
Percy shook it off and leapt into the fray. He slashed at Draco who simply dissolved, leaving a silent room.
"That was insane!" Nyssa exclaimed shakily, coming out from behind the table. "Is he going to come back?"
"Jason, you good?" Percy asked, kneeling by him.
"He knew greek. He did some magic spell voodoo thingie and I can't really move from neck down. It's fading though. Give me five seconds." Jason explained.
"Again?" Annabeth said, exasperatedly as she entered the ruined infirmary. "Will is going to murder you."
"Draco happened!" Percy defended.
"I know, Seaweed Brain, I know." Annabeth said, surveying the damage. She pursed her lips."We have to do something. We're sitting ducks."
Jason's limbs began to loosen and he gestured for help in getting up. Percy obliged and pulled him to his feet before turning away to talk to Annabeth. He encircled her in a hug, probably trying to de-stress her.
"Look out! Draco!" David yelled, pointing to Jason. To Jason?
Suddenly, arms encircled his waist and he felt himself fading. He thrust his hand out and was met with Nyssa's arm. She grabbed on and tugged.
"Don't let go! David, help me!" Nyssa called.
David lunged forward and grabbed Nyssa's outstretched arm as Percy began to launch himself towards them. It happened in slow motion. David grabbed Nyssa's hand and then the three of them faded away. Jason's world went dark and wind rushed past him. He could feel Nyssa's hand in his and he gripped it tightly.
