Christmas Day had rolled around, outside was cold, in fact it was snowing. Cara loved snow, it looked like the world was covered in a blanket, or that the world was being rewritten. Her eyes opened as she took a deep breath, her Black duvet had been wrapped around her. It was about five in the morning, Cara thought she was the only one awake until Sirius knocked on her door.
"Merry Christmas Beautiful" Sirius whispered, Cara's eyes snapped over to her door, Sirius quickly shut the door so no one would see him entering her room.
"Merry Christmas to you as well, but why are you up so early?" Cara asked, Sirius smiled before pulling a small box out of his jacket pocket.
"Because I have a present for you." Cara sat up and stretched, he sat on her bed. Sirius smiled at her tee shirt (It was a picture of a wolf) it reminded him of moony. He handed her the small box, she took the shimmery gold ribbon off of the top. When she took the top off of the box to revel a locket, she opened it to see a picture of the pair in first year when he had the Wisteria vines around his ankles and he was upside down.
"Sirius, Its beautiful, I love it so much." She threw her arms over Sirius, he wrapped his arms around her. When she released him, she got out of the bed and went over to her trunk and pulled out a circular object.
"I got you a present as well. I didn't wrap it though." Sirius smiled, she had been thinking about him even when he was around. She opened her hand and he saw a snitch, he looked at her confused.
"Touch your wand to it." Cara said, he did as she told and then there were pictures of them in first years, and them kissing at the pureblood banquet, when they were out in the forest. Sirius was amazed because the pictures surrounded them like the walls were projector sheets.
"Cara, this is amazing." He said as he turned to see the Banquet pictures.
"And that is the snitch from your first quidditch game." Cara mention, he smiled at her with a nostalgia kicking in. He touched his wand to the snitch again before putting it in his pocket.
"Thank you." Was all Sirius was able to stutter out. He hugged Cara once more and kissed her cheek.
"No problem, Can you help me put the locket on?" Cara asked politely, Sirius nodded and grabbed the locket, He moved her hair before clasping the necklace.
"Promise not to tell Reggie or my parents that I gave you that." Sirius said, she nodded before responding with "Back at ya" The pair laughed. They looked over at the clock it was only 5:16 am.
"Want to go back to the forest? My parents and Reggie won't be up until about 9:00 a.m." Sirius suggested, Cara smiled and nodded.
"Yes, go and let me get dressed, I'll go to your room in 15 minutes." Sirius nodded and left the room.
Cara walked over to her trunk and changed into light blue skinny jeans, black combat boots, a black turtle neck, her wand, and a bag that had an extension charm (it was where she put her ice skates). Her hair was put up into a half up half down look. She walked over to Sirius' room, she knocked and walked in, he was playing was with the snitch.
"Are you ready?" Cara asked, he nodded.
"Wait you are going to need a jacket, it's snowing." Sirius said before they left since he noticed her in only a turtle neck.
"I didn't bring one, with your family I wasn't expecting much outside activities." Cara said, Sirius laughed because she wasn't wrong. Sirius walked over to his closet and grabbed a leather jacket that he had outgrown in 3rd year, and held it out to her, she tried it on and it fit perfectly.
"Thank you. You always seem to be looking out for me." Sirius nodded and smiled.
"And I will always try to." Sirius responded, Cara nudged him. They walked outside and the cold air hit her, causing her nose and cheeks to turn deep pink. They walked through the snow in silence, Sirius just stared at Cara. When they approached a frozen lake, Cara finally spoke up.
"I want to go ice skating" Cara said, she was so sure that Sirius laughed out loud.
"Love, that was quite random" He said still laughing, Cara noticed his use of the word 'love' but she chose not to bring it up, he probably didn't mean to.
"And how are you going to do that without ice skates?" Sirius asked, but when he noticed her putting her hand into a bag, and she pulled out 2 pairs of ice skates.
"I might have put an undetectable extension charm on my bag before we left Hogwarts." She said innocently. Sirius smiled and watched how quickly she was able to lace up her skates. She immediately got up and on the ice, and she was amazing. She had been able to jump and spin.
" I didn't know you knew how to ice skate." Sirius said, she had surprised him yet again.
"I get bored easily, why not entertain myself in unconventional ways?" Cara asked, and she truly believed that statement. She never had siblings who wanted to do things with her, or a family that was interactive, so she had to entertain herself. Sirius however was struggling. Cara came over and grabbed his hands and guided him.
"How long were you and Regulus a couple?" Sirius asked randomly, Cara frozen before falling into a fit of laughter.
"Never! We have never been a couple!" She exclaimed still laughing, Sirius wore a relieved look on his face.
"Sorry! Its just you two are really close, I just assumed." Sirius shrugged, everyone in Hogwarts had assumed that Reggie and Cara had been more and friends, and although Reggie wanted to be, Cara never did.
"How long were you and Marlene a couple?" Cara asked, not out of jealousy, but out of curiosity.
"About a month, but we were more friends with benefits." Sirius said with a smirk, Cara felt a pang in her chest, she checked her watch.
"We should start heading back, your parents will be up in about an hour and a half." Cara said as she lead him back to the snow, they pair unlaced their skates and put them back in her bag. Sirius noticed how Cara's words had drifted away from her mouth.
"Did I say something to upset you?" Sirius asked, he was worried, Sirius could be quite oblivious sometimes
"No, of course not." Cara responded.

The Black's exchanged gifts with one another, and Cara gave her gift to Reggie (a journal with his and her initials in it, enchanted so anything one of them wrote in it the other could see it. The day ended with a feast they all thanked each other. As Cara was going to bed Sirius snuck in again.
"What happened, Cara? One minute we were laughing and ice skating, the next you are giving me the cold shoulder, pardon the pun" Sirius said, Cara looked up at him.
"I'm not giving you the cold shoulder, I just have been deep in thought." Cara responded her eyes trained on the floor
"Tomorrow you go home." Sirius said, trying to remind himself.
"Yes and on Monday we start Hogwarts up again." Cara said, with a small smile.
"Will we be friends when we go back to school?" Sirius asked =, looking over at Cara on the verge of tears.
"I don't think so, unless you are okay with loosing some of your cool factor." Cara said looking back at him.
"You've got yourself a new friend, Cara." Sirius said before smiling. Cara made sure her door was shut before she leaned in and kissed Sirius deeply, she pulled away, leaving Sirius confused
"I thought you said that 'more than friends' was off limits here." Sirius said happily, Cara nodded.
"We can't. Obliviate." Cara whispered, as she made Sirius forget their moment.
"Goodbye." Cara whispered.
