(This story starts in 5th year)
If there was a mystery in Hogwarts her name was Cara White, she had been lurking in the shadows since the first year. Every house even the Slytherin's and Gryffindors knew of her violent and rather bitter exterior.
Cara's sister, Rosie, was the most beloved girl in school she was beautiful and kind, not to mention optimistic. Rosie and Cara had different Fathers, which many people believed was why they were so different, but that wasn't the case. Cara's father, Stephan, had abused her for the first 12 years of her life but then she learned a few things , and Cara took most of the heat for her sister. Rosie was one year older than Cara, but that never mattered Cara was always the more pessimistic, and stronger one of the two. While Rosie was a classic Hufflepuff, Cara was a Slytherin, that was one of the most predictable things in the world to her family, she seemed like she would be a Slytherin, lurking in the shadows, planning her revenge on her father. But now she sits in the Library , reading a muggle book 'The picture of Dorian Gray.' As she read the doors slammed open, and enter the Marauders, James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black.
"Did you see Snivilus' face?" James Potter explained as he laughed. The four were making their way to an empty table, until Cara caught Sirius Black's eyes. Sirius strutted over, he noticed the book in front of her.
"Interesting choice. Why'd you choose it?" Sirius asked as he gestured to the book, it was one of the few books Remus recommended that he actually read, but nevertheless he enjoyed it. Though it was an odd book choice.
"It shows how far a person will go for eternal vanity." She answered, The other Marauders noticed he was missing, so they decided to join their dark haired best friend.
"Ahh, Cara, I saw your sister outside, compared to her your expression looks like you just got hit by a bloody bus!" James mocked, causing Cara's blue eyes to finally wander up from the page.
"What do you want, Black?" She asked, Sirius shrugged, and James pulled his arm around Sirius.
"Padfoot, do you hear her? She doesn't sound like she likes us too much. Or at all for that matter." James said again. Cara hated him with a burning passion, she didn't know if it was his demeanor, or how he was annoyingly in love with Lily Evans, one of Rosie's best friends.
"I don't like you at all. All of you walked over here so if you need something say it now." They all laughed.
"Fine, have it your way. Stupefy!" Cara said, and soon James dropped to the floor, The other marauders looked at her in horror and astonishment.
"You just did wandless magic" Sirius said in the most impressed tone, but he soon realized his best friend was on the floor unconscious.
"What was that spell?" Peter asked worriedly, as neither Peter, nor Remus had been able to wake their friend.
"He'll be up in about 2 hours, this was your warning... Leave. Me. Alone." Cara said before grabbing her book and running out of the common room. Sirius heard the words that had come out of Cara's mouth, but those words made him more intrigued with Cara.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Cara, hey!" Rosie called to her sister. Somehow Rosie (and all of Slytherin, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff) had heard about Cara using a spell on James Potter, what other people didn't know was what spell she used, or that she had done wand less magic.
"What Ro?" Cara said annoyed, causing the Hufflepuffs that surrounded her sister to get hostile.
" Is it true that you attacked James Potter in the library a few hours ago?" Rosie asked, she didn't want to believe Cara did that, but sadly it sounded right up Cara's alley
"Yes, he was being rude, and thats coming from me, I'm the queen of rudeness." Cara smiled sarcastically, causing Rosie to roll her eyes.
"Cara, you have to take this seriously, you could get in a lot of trouble with Minnie. " Minerva McGonagall, and Rosie got on quite well, Rosie was by far McGonagall's favorite student, so when Rosie started calling her Minnie she was perfectly okay with the nickname.
"I know, but I have to admit, seeing the Marauder's faces after was hilarious." Cara said, causing Rosie to crack a small smile. Cara and Rosie had always been close, and no one ever understood why, they were always complete opposites, but even with that they cared about each other greatly. Some of Rosie's many friends called her back over.
"Watch out for yourself, okay sis?" Rosie said looking at her sister, before Cara nodded. Rosie pulled Cara into a hug.
"I love you sis." Rosie whispered to Cara before running back to her friends. As Cara wandered down the hallways back to her room she was approached yet again by the Marauders, but this time all of them had their wands ready, but she didn't need one .
"Well, well, what do we have here? Cara White, all by herself and completely unprepared for a fight. What perfect situation." James said in an almost wicked tone, but Cara was never the person to get scared easily.
"But even if it is four against one, you know I'm going to win." Cara said, these were the moments when she recognized why she was in Slytherin.
"And why is that?" James asked with a smirked, but Sirius saw her wand in her boot, he knew she wouldn't be able to grab her wand before any of them hexed her, but he also knew now she could do wandless magic.
"Because I know a very special spell, expelliarmus!" she explained quickly, causing all of their wands to fly out of their hands and into hers.
"Oh, look at that, I win." Cara said with a eye roll following close after. Sirius was extremely impressed. James' smirk soon turned into a scowl at her sudden, and frequent wins.
"How are you so far ahead of our year?" Remus asked, Cara's eyes glazed over as she recalled the memories of her father.
"Thats an impossible question to answer, Lupin." Cara replied, as she effectively fought back tears as her father face kept popping up in her head.
"And why is that?" Sirius asked, for some reason Sirius wanted to know more about Cara, but she didn't need them to know anything about her.
"Because I don't wanna tell you, I'll see you lovely people later." Cara smiled and pushed past the Marauders. James, Remus, and Peter, left (probably to pull a prank), but Sirius followed, and caught up with Cara.
"We're not so bad, you know?" Sirius said, Cara scoffed.
"Fine, if you really believe that, than prove it." Cara said with a small smile. What most people didn't know is that in first year Cara and Sirius were friends, they would talk in the common room, help each other with specific spells, they were good friends, but when Sirius became friends with James, the two drifted apart.
"How do I prove it?" Sirius asked.
"Lets see... If you and the guys can make it one week without pranking me or any Slytherins, I'll stop being such a jerk to you." Sirius smiled at Cara's voice, but nodded.
"I do believe that could be arranged, but you have to do one more thing for me." Sirius said, Cara's eyebrows furrowed.
"At the very end of this year, or this deal whatever fits you best. You have to kiss me in front of my parents. They adore you, please! It would help me out, as I am helping you." Sirius said, Cara's eyes widened at the size of saucers.
"Okay, deal. I'm only agreeing to this because I don't think you can do it.." Cara said as her and Sirius laughed.
"Do you remember in first year when we snuck out to the black lake--" Cara cut Sirius off.
"And you pushed me into the lake!" Cara said with a pout on her lips, but Sirius smiled. They were good friends at some point, but what Sirius couldn't remember is why their friendship had truly crumbled, which was the saddest part, Cara remember every detail.
