𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴||☽

reign walked into the studio, she was supposed to be writing a song with another artist, no one told her who it was so it was a mystery to her.

she opened the door to the booth and was met with her ex boyfriend, edwin.

as the girl was about to turn around and walk out he called her name

"reign, please can we just do this for the label?" he asks as she turns around while inhaling deeply

"okay" and with that the two of them took a seat at the piano. "i'm only sitting here because i have to" she makes clear before edwin chuckles awkwardly

"so how have you been?" he asked "i've been okay i guess, i'm pulling through" she says as he nods "you?" she asks

"kinda same as you" the two of them sat in an awkward silence

"well should we start?" reign asks as edwin nods rubbing his sweaty palms on his thighs

edwin starts playing a tune and starting singing

i was distracted
and in traffic
i didn't feel like it
when the earthquake happened
but it really got me thinking
were you out drinking?
were you in the living room
chilling, watching television?

he looks reign in the eyes as he sung it, she knew it was about them and their relationship

its been a year now

reign's eyes began to water, she began to take on playing the melody and singing for herself

but it really got me thinking the night we went drinking stumbled in the house
and didn't make it past the kitchen

reign recalls the first night they'd gone on a date, they both got drunk and took an uber back to her apartment where they stumbled and fell in the kitchen where they both laughed until they regained the ability to stand up

the two broke up because of their commitment issues and at first it was hard for both of them to talk about it but now that they understand why they didn't work its easier to talk about, the two began singing together

the two began singing the end of the song and then wrote the lyrics together, at the end reign picked up her purse and gave edwin a hug

"if the world was ending you'd come over right?" he asks as reign chuckles before nodding her head "bye edwin" she says "bye reign" he smiles while watching her walk out of the studio
