chaeyoung was standing in front of the already crowded stadium, waiting for her new friend to show up. although they knew each other for a short time, she felt like she has known him since forever. ever since she started talking (or more accurately, texting) him, she has felt a certain connection. she doesn't know what that is, nor has she paid much attention to that feeling, simply assuming that it's just her excitement about making a new friend.jungkook, on the other hand, was smiling to himself as he walked towards the lit up stadium with two cups of coffee in his hands. he doesn't understand why he's smiling, or why his heart feels restless. could it be because he's meeting the pretty girl from twitter? she's pretty, yes. but he also feels something more than just physical attraction whenever he talks with her. she's so… easy to talk to. he feels comfortable even if he knows her for a short period. it's confusing him for sure. he doesn't open up to everyone like that.
he reached the stadium and his eyes started searching for the girl. he should've asked for her picture before, because he has no idea how she looks right now. she could've dyed her hair or wore something too extra. but then, his eyes fell on the girl at a considerable distance, who was also searching for someone. and he instantly knew, it's her.
chaeyoung was tapping her foot impatiently as she looked around to see anyone remotely looking like the guy from twitter. and then she saw someone walking towards her with two cups of coffee. she recognised him immediately.
he walked up to her with a smile on his face, and she smiled back.
"hey–" he was going to say then jungkook noticed it. actually, they both noticed it. it's surprising how they didn't see it before, or even think about checking.
they both stood there, just staring at each other and their blonde hair.
then slowly, their hair started turning black, from the roots to the tips. the shock on their face increased gradually as their hair started turning their natural colour. they didn't know what to say. chaeyoung slowly drifted her gaze to their little fingers.
the red string of fate tied around their fingers was clearly visible.
"t-this can't be…" she muttered to herself.
jungkook didn't know how to react. the girl in front of him was his soulmate. the one who he kept hating on ever since they gained this power. the one who he found annoying, had cursed and decided to cut the bond as soon as he met them. but now that he has met her, he doesn't know what to do. he can't find words to speak. he has told his own soulmate (albeit without knowing) that he wants to cut their string of fate. that he wants nothing to do with her. that he feels nothing but annoyance for them.
and he could see that she was also thinking about the same thing based on the horrified expression she wore.
before he could formulate any words in his head, he saw the girl walking away from him, leaving him alone in front of the stadium.
