"Almaaaa wake uppp" My dad whispers as he opens the blinds to let the sun in.
"My eyes" I sigh throwing a pillow over my face.
"Come on princess you got school" he laughs.
I honestly forgot about school. I was too busy enjoying the holidays.
Last night was fun. I enjoyed hanging out with Latrelle. I enjoyed going on an actual date.
My phone receives a text from Latrelle.
Good morning baby
I begin blushing like an idiot as I hold the phone to my chest.
My dad's head peeps in and gives me a weird stare. I quickly dash my phone under the pillow.
"Cough cough quit smiling and get dressed" Dad says tapping his watch.
I sigh and quickly head towards the bathroom.
I could not quit smiling. I finally had an actual boyfriend.
Wait.
Can I call him my boyfriend yet?
We've only been on one date.
My train of thoughts gets interrupted by sound of dad's voice.
"Hurry up Alma" Dad shouts.
I sigh and quickly rush back to my room to get dressed.
"No no no" I sigh throwing clothes out my closet.
Ugh I hate this.
"This will do" I sigh.
I quickly threw on a hoodie and some jeans.
The clock read 7:50. School started at 8.
I sit in front on my mirror and desperately search for a hair tie only to realise I had one on my wrist.
"Ew" I whisper looking at my lame attempt at a messy bun.
I look like I was attacked by a squirrel.
Cute messy buns only work when you don't want them to.
I adjust my bun to make it look slightly better and rush down the stares to meet my dad who was leaning on the kitchen counter.
"You ready?" Dad sighs throwing his arm around me.
I give him a nod as we entee the car.
The clock now read 7:54.
"Quick quick" I say begging dad to drive faster.
"I'm a cop not a race driver" Dad laughs.
"Exactly" I smile as I glance at the button that made the sirens go off.
"Alma no. Thats for emergencies" Dad sighs.
"This is a emergency" I sigh giving him puppy dog eyes.
"Yeah it kinda is. Isn't it?" Dad asks and I nod in agreement.
"This will be the one and only time I do this for you" Dad whispers as he pushes the button.
The loud siren goes off and all the cars move out the way.
Dad switches off the sirens as we enter the school parking lot.
