He was always flirting. Seeing as the pub was his favorite place to be, he was hitting on people 24/7. All of whom rejected him instantly. It never really got to him though.
It was a usual day for Mirage, drinking and flirting. That's when she caught his eye.
She was short, short enough to where people questioned if she was allowed to be in a place like this.
She caught his eye fast, not only because of her height, but the look in her eyes. The emotion he couldn't define as she sat alone sipping on her mojito. Something about her mad whom want to talk to her, about anything, just to catch her attention.
He walked over to her, and sat in the chair to her right. She glanced up, slightly curious.
"The names Elliott, but you might know me by Mirage from the Apex Games" He slightly boasted.
She loudly sipped on her drink, she didn't seem to be impressed.
"Never heard of it"
He was slightly taken aback, but cleared his throat and kept talking.
"W-what's your name?"
"Y/n"
She didn't speak further, making him feel extremely awkward.
"Well, um, aside from being a total cutie, what do you like to do?" He asked, smirk on his face.
Her expression didn't change, just blank.
"Yeah um, don't do that- ever. But I don't know really, just doing whatever I can to cure my boredom I guess" She said, placing her head in her hands.
For one reason or another, he was going to keep talking to her. And he did. They were chatting for minutes, which turned into hours. The entire night had passed by.
"Before we leave, you mind if I ask for some advice?" He said.
She nodded her head, "About?".
He cleared his throat. "This is real personal and all but, let's say you had a really close family member just up disappear. Let's say it happened a long time ago, but you just...never got over it. What would you do?"
She stopped drinking and looked up at him, slight surprise on her face.
"Well, I went through the same thing not to long ago, and um, what I did was distract myself with things that made me happy, and eventually it just became the least of my concerns. And I guess just having peace of mind" She said.
She wasn't an idiot and it was easy to see that he was talking about himself, she also found it strange by how much he was opening up to a stranger. She came to the conclusion that it was just the drinks.
It was the second week of the two meeting up at the pub. He would ask for advice on his problems, she'd give the best answers she could.
"Hey, a lot of the time we're talking about me, and as much as I love that, what about you?"
"What about me?" She said, emphasis on the about.
He lifted a brow and laughed.
"Tell me more about you"
She sighed and put down her usual glass. There were a few moments of silence between the two while she thought of what to say to him.
"Well you know my name, and you know that I like drinking sometimes. Um, I work at a little shop nearby here, and I live alone in an apartment"
"So no boyfriend, huh?" He said while winking.
She proceeded to stare at him ad if he were a piece of gum on the bottom of her shoe. "Shut the hell up please"
He held back a laugh and smiled.
"Damn, y/n, dismissive as usual"
And for the first time since they've met, she smiled. It was small, and to herself, but it was still a smile. He damn near fell out of his chair. He held a hand to his heart to calm its racing.
He coughed and continued there conversation.
That was one of the many instances of how y/n made his heart flutter.
They would chat every day, and days turned to weeks, which were eventually months. And with each month that passed, he felt himself falling harder and harder for the mysterious girl.
He was sitting with y/n as usual, being flirty and whatnot.
"So, y/n, you don't have a boyfriend so I figured I could fill in" He winked.
She looked at him, his eyes went wide, because instead of disgust, she was blushing.
"Wait- y/n..? Are you seriously consider-" He started but she cut him off.
"Shut up. These jokes aren't funny anymore, stop toying with me" She said while pouting.
She started to get up and leave, "I'll see you tomorrow, I wanna' to go home.."
He grabbed her arm, she looked back with the same expressionless face, he considered not even saying anything.
"I-Its not a joke" He stuttered out and felt his face heat up.
"What?" She asked while squinting her eyes.
"Its not a joke and I'm not toying with you. I'm seriously in love with you. Wasn't it obvious from the start?"
She blushed and pushed his arm off. She opened and closed her mouth a few times before responding.
"Really?"
He nodded and smiled at her, his eyes creasing.
"Then, you can be my.." She mumbled at the end.
"What was that y/n?"
She deadpanned and flicked his head.
"You heard me, I said you can be my boyfriend, if you want" She blushed and looked away.
He smirked.
"I've never seen you this flustered, its cute"
Her face reddened, she punched his arm.
"Ow! Jeez y/n.." He winced while rubbing his arm.
Catching him off guard, she pecked his cheek. Now it was his turn to be embarrassed. She smirked and started to walk off.
"Who's the flustered one now?" She turned around and laughed.
He put a hand to his cheek and stared in amazement.
