The rain hit the ground with a pitter patter. Your hair was soaked, you ran a hand through it, and watched as your best friend, Renee spun. Her black locks were loose and wild.

She was quite the cold person, but you noticed that when she was around you, she was more free-spirited. She wasn't afraid to be herself.

The water droplets covered her face, it even landed on her long lashes.

Your heart throbbed in your chest.

"So pretty..." You mumbled.

"Hm? What was that, Y/N?" She asked, her dancing halted.

Your face burned red in embarrassment.

"N-no! I didn't say anything!" You shouted a little too loud.

She chuckled and quirked a brow at you in confusion. She put her hands out to you, you looked at them, then her.

"Huh?" You asked.

Since you were taller than her, she craned her neck to look at you.

"Dance with me" She said.

You blushed again.

"Wha-?" You said, before she placed your hand on her hips, and she placed hers on your shoulders.

"Wait Renee! W-we probably look crazy to other people right now...And plus, your reputation, what if someone takes a picture?"  You shouted in a whispering tone.

"So? As long as we're having fun, it doesn't really matter, right? And besides, I could care less about my damn reputation" She said.

You avoided eye contact.

"Yeah, thats true I guess..."

The smell of rain filled your nostrils, while it was cold, the warmth of her body helped. When you shivered, Renee took note, she tightened her arms around your neck, and placed her head into your chest.

You two could feel the heat radiating from each other, and you prayed to any higher being there was in the sky, that she wouldn't hear your fast heartbeat.

It beat like rapid fire in your ears, and by her soft giggling, you assumed that she could hear it too.

She closed her eyes. And your thoughts raced. Would she dance like this with anyone else? Is she only comfortable like this around me, or am I thinking too far?

With your eyes lidded, you opened your mouth subconsciously.

"I love you." You said.

Her eyes widened as her grip loosened and she looked up at you. Awake from her daze.

"What?" She asked, astonished.

And then, your very soul left your entire body, you shut your mouth, quick.

"Nothing. I didn't say anything." You nervously avoided her eyes and started to sweat bullets.

"Yes you did. Don't lie, Y/N." She said.

You gulped.

"Fine... I said it, I said I love you. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to i-it just slipped out! I don't want to lose you so please-" You mumbled on and on, but was interrupted when something warm and soft hit your lips.

Your eyes went wide, Renee was kissing you.

You eventually closed your eyes, and kissed back. She put her arms back around your neck, pushing your kiss even further.

But it ended faster than it started to your disappointment.

You danced again in a comfortable silence, your insides felt all fuzzy and happy, it was all so strange to you.

"I love you too, Y/N.." She spoke, her cheeks lightly painted a shade of pink.

You tried hiding your happiness, but the smile that creeped up on your face thought to differ.
