𝓛𝓪𝔀𝓷 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓭 🦇

I walk around with Sarah and Erica in the halls of Whitechapel High School. Erica goes off to 'grab breakfast' leaving Sarah and me to chat with one another. In the middle of our conversation, Sarah asks: "Sorry to change the subject, but, do you have a twenty?" She pleads. I take my backpack off of my shoulders and I start to rummage through it. "Sorry, all I have is a five and a ten, unless you want both and someone gives you a five?" I suggest. Sarah shakes her head. "It's fine, thanks though," she responds. We walk and spot Ethan and Benny talking to each other and Benny magically casting flowers. We walk over to Ethan and Sarah asks him: "Can I talk to you?" Ethan turns to face Sarah and me. He greets us: "Hey, how goes it? What's new?" He asks. "Can I borrow twenty, friend?" Sarah awkwardly questions. "It's for a good cause," She adds. "Twenty dollars? Like now? Um..." He nervously asks. We hear a girl crying and look over to see Benny handing flowers to her. He walks back and shares some unexpected news with us. "Awesome news, Della's dog died!" He exclaims with a grin. I furrow my brows in confusion as I wonder why this is good news. "And that's good news?" Sarah questions. "Yeah," Benny responds with a smile while frantically nodding. "Nice," I state while rolling my eyes. "Gotta go," "Later," Sarah and I say our goodbyes and we exit the school together.

After school, I meet up with Erica to try and scope out some 'food,' and we notice Sarah walking while calling someone. Then, we walk behind her. "Forget it. I still have some other options. See ya," Sarah says in an annoyed tone and she lets out a frustrated sigh as she hangs up. "So, how is your little pet nerd?" Erica asks as I stand beside her. Sarah turns around in surprise when she sees us. "Oh, you know - nerdy," she awkwardly responds. "Look, the reason I wanted to talk to you is that--" Sarah gets cut off by Erica. "Ah! You changed your mind about flying down to the city this weekend?" She asks excitedly as I display a joyful smile as well. "I knew it! We are gonna tear it up!" She states with a grin. "Erica, Zoe, you know fledglings can't fly. Not for free. Which is why I need to ask you... Can I... borrow some money?" Sarah asks with a pleading expression as she looks over to Erica. "I'll pay you back," Sarah begs. "Money? If you would just wake up and smell the platelets, then you can take whatever you want and whoever you want," Erica argues. "I understand. But I just thought--" Erica and I interrupt Sarah by stating: "In Fangs we trust. All others pay cash!" We smirk as we pop our fangs out. Erica glances over Sarah's shoulder and I follow her gaze. "Ah! Our food's here. Call us when you're... ready," Erica says with a grin. I walk with Erica and I turn around to wave goodbye to Sarah. She sadly waves goodbye to me as well. "I feel bad for Sarah since she couldn't get a simple twenty bucks from someone. Hopefully, she finds a way soon," I think to myself. 

The next day at school, Sarah and I walk in the hallway and we see Ethan look at Benny with a shaky box. I raise a brow at this and Sarah gives me a nervous expression. We walk over to Ethan to see what the situation is. "Just tell us: What are you and dumber-you up to this time?" Sarah asks Ethan with an annoyed tone. "And why is the box that Benny is holding shaking?" I ask with my arms crossed. "What? Nothing. I don't know what you two are talking about," Ethan says apprehensively. I give him a glare, unconvinced. He's hiding something from us. "Spill," I demand. "Also, we know your work when we see it," Sarah adds. Then she changes the topic by stating: "I was trying out for a new sales job and I walked up to someone's front porch and then all of a sudden I heard growling. Then, I got attacked by a rabid animal or something. Luckily, I had the strength to pull it off me," Sarah states with a frustrated tone. I look back at Ethan, holding the same glare. "Look, all I did was help Benny, um, 'rescue' an innocent girl's dog..." Ethan explains. I hear growling and I look over to the source of the noise. Della's supposedly dead dog is trying to bite her. "Puffles? Puffles! What are you doing Puffles, what's wrong with you?" Della shouts with fear. She starts to run away from the rabid dog in horror and Benny shouts: "Wait!" He runs after Della and she yells for Puffles to stop. He stops to say to us: "She didn't even say 'thank you!' Ugh!" Then, he continues to chase after Della. "Coincidence?" Ethan nervously asks as he walks away from us. I roll my eyes in annoyance, rubbing my temples. "Look, I can explain," Ethan starts, as he sees Sarah's expression of disbelief. "Hey, what is up?" Rory questions as he comes up to us, greeting us. "What happened to you?" Ethan inquires. "Weirdest thing. Last night I went out for a crunchy critter snack, but this time, the snack fought back! I think it was possessed," Rory points out. "You don't need bandages, remember? Vampires can heal themselves," I whisper the last sentence. He takes off the bandages revealing normal fingers. "Yo! Fingers grow back fast! Sweet! High five!" He exclaims with astonishment, holding his hand up for any of us to high five him. None of us did. "Did you guys do what I think you guys did?" Sarah asks in an irate tone. "Raise dead animals from the grave to get a girl's attention?" Ethan questions apprehensively. "Unbelievable," I respond with a scoff. After this, Sarah and I walk away from Ethan and Rory. Sarah and I look at each other in disbelief and we walk outside of the school to go our separate ways.
