ᴍɪᴄʜᴇᴀʟ🥴 POV

With a nosegay of Frangipani flowers (her favorite) in my left hand and nervousness flooding through my body I knocked on her door preparing to experience a moment I wouldn't dear forget and would forever cherish.

The door swung open revealing a little boy.

"Hello. Dad! Someone's at the door!"

This must be the wrong house.

"I'm sorry this must be the wrong house," I say leaving.

"Hello, how may I help you?" a man asks.

"Hey! I'm looking for a woman by the name of Alexandrite Valley.

7 HOURS EARLIER

KEITH POV
As I sat next to his bed contemplating a decision of letting him go, I couldn't help but feel depressed. It has been 7 years since he's been in a coma and he has shown no changes and everyone but me have given up on him.

"Hey dad! I know I haven't come looking for you in 2 months and I'm sorry. I feel lost right now. So much is happening to me that I wish I could talk to you about. I don't know if you can hear me but please, I need you to wake up," I plead as I hold his hand.

To my incredulity his thumb slid over my skin.

"Nurse! Nurse!" I call out.

"Who are you and where am I??" he asks.

"Dad you're at the hospital and it's me, Keith," I inform as I hug him.
.....

"So what I'm gathering is that I've been in a coma for 7 years, you now live your stepfather, Elisa, and new sibling and it's a miracle that I'm awake because for 7 years I've shown no changes?" my father questions confusingly.

"Yessir!" I answer.

"What about Alex?"

"Well...she's-"

"I have to go see her! The doctor said I'm fine and just need to take my pills so I'm good to go. Can you take me to her?" he asks.

There was something that I should have probably told him but it would be best if he found out on his own.

"Sure. But there is no way you're going looking like that!" I insist.

After hours of getting a haircut, going clothes and shoe shopping, buying food and catching up, we were ready to pay a visit to Alex's house.
