ALEXANDRITE POV
For no apparent reason, Arnold and I were awake at 4:30 a.m. We were talking and making jokes with one another.

"I taking the kids to school today," Arnold protests.

"But Micheal's already doing it."

"Right. I've been meaning to talk to you about him."

"What about him?" I ask.

"I don't like the role he has developed in this house over the past three weeks."

"Role? What you talking 'bout?" I ask as I get up from off his chest.

"Don't take this the wrong way but Micheal is like the man of the house now. Hear me out. Every morning for the past 3 weeks Micheal has been up before me and in the kitchen with you making lunch and breakfast. You guys are always giggling with each other until I pop up. On top of that, I no longer carry my kids to school. He picks up and drops them off every day since he came here. The kids don't even listen to me anymore. It's always Uncle Micheal. You went on a date with him last night—"

"Date? So this is what it's about? Micheal and I did not go on a date. I got two adult tickets to the game, you were busy with work so Micheal tagged along. What's wrong with two old friends watching a game together?"

"Everything! Would you let me finish?" he asks.

"Alright. Go on."

"You don't eat dinner from me anymore. Remember last week Monday? I came home early and cooked before going to meet up with my brother. By the time I was home Micheal had already cooked something else and no one even took a bite out of my lasagna. Not even the kids. I feel like both you and the kids prefer Micheal in your lives than me."

Oh, he's jealous and feel left out.

I sighed before saying "Arnold, we can never choose Micheal over you. You've been here for all of us and Micheal only came into our lives 3 weeks ago. I think it's best if you talk to Micheal and let him know how you feel," I propound.

"Talk? Oh hell no!"

"Then what do you propose I do?" I question, confused as ever.

"I want him out of my house by the end of this Saturday. I don't know where he's gonna go but that's not my business," he says.

"So you want me to kick him out? You know, I didn't expect this from you Arnold. Especially, since you were the one who suggested that he stayed here until he can get a home. And here you are now, telling me (the person who didn't want him here in the first place) to tell him to leave?!"

MICHEAL POV
It was 5:00 and I was up, as usual. I conducted my morning routine before making my way into the kitchen. That's when I heard Arnold and Alex arguing, again.

Who argues at 5 in the morning? It didn't seem as if Alex was going to come down anytime soon so I started breakfast. Usually Alex would wake the kids up but I don't know if I'm allowed in their rooms. I mean, I'm not their dad or anything.

Soon it was 5:15 and the kids were still asleep. If I don't wake them up any sooner they'll be late for school. The two adults were still quarreling upstairs.

Ah fuck it!

I honestly didn't know which room was whose. I have never been to this side of the house before. I knocked on the first door for about 2 minutes before I got a response.

"Come in!" Egypt says.

I entered and she was already up. Shit! Her room was the definition of clean. EVERYTHING was neatly folded and stacked in their right places.
