Rei POV--

"You should train him." I intoned. "I can just train with you. I've gotten this far, haven't I?" I smiled at Kanan, he looked at me with light in his eyes.

"I probably should, but first, we need to test him." Kanan pushed on a drawer under his mattress. It popped open. Kanan's lightsaber was resting in it. But there was something else. A Holocron. I picked the Holocron up, turning it over in my hands.

"This was from after 66, wasn't it?" I asked, feeling the grooves in its side.

"See for yourself." Kanan answered, looking me in the eye. I set the Holocron on the floor in front of me. Closing my eyes, I concentrated. I heard a small click. Not daring to open my eyes, I used the Force, letting it help me open the Holocron.

A small metalic hum was emitted. My eyes opened slowly, seeing a holo of Master Obi-Wan.

"This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi." Subtle surprise made its way onto my face. "I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take its place. This message is a warning and a reminder to any surviving Jedi; trust in the force. Do not return to the Temple, that time has passed. Our future is uncertain. (This is where I'm not sure if I have all of the words. Sorreh. I HAVE ALL OF THE WORDIES NOW {As of 1-8-15}) We will each be challenged; our trust, our faith, our friendships, but we must persevere, and in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you. Always." I looked over at Kanan. A pained look was on his face, but I could barely notice it.

"Wow." Was all I could manage. Kanan nodded. He closed his eyes and held his hand out. He closed the Holocron and levitated it over to his outstretched hand.

"Where could I put it so that Ezra would find it?" Kanan asked. I smirked.

"Just put it where it belongs. He'll have raided all of these rooms by tomorrow." Kanan raised an eyebrow. I smiled. "He got taught by the best."

"I noticed." Kanan smiled back. A buzzing sound came over the internal comm.

"Kanan! Report to the rear guns immediately!"' Kanan stood up and punched the control panel, making the door slide open. He ran into an intersection. He went up the ladder.

"Rei, you get bottom." Kanan called down. I grinned. Just like old times. I thought while I slid down the bars of the ladder to the seat. I grabbed the controls and swiveled the it. I fired at a TIE that whizzed past the window. I followed it, the shots finally hitting the target. An explosion followed. The remaining two TIEs used the smoke and debree to act as a cloaking device. They fired and hit the ship.

"The rear shields won't last long under this barrage!" A voice yelled over the comm.

"Got it Hera!" Kanan yelled back. An explosion rocked the ship. I fired at a TIE that wandered too close to my turret. It was gone in less than a moment.

"You got the last one?" I called up to Kanan.

"Does this answer your question?" Kanan yelled down. He was firing at the last TIE. He missed. I fired and followed the hexagonal ship with blaster fire. I sped ahed of it and fired the fatal shot.

"No. It didn't." I smirked as I climbed up the rungs of the ladder.

"Good shot." Kanan complimented.

"When you bother the Empire for a living, you get good blaster practice." I fingered my Blaster and looked up at Jarrus. "Where do I bunk?" I asked.

"This way." Kanan walked down a hall away from the turrets. He stopped at a door. He tapped the control panel and the door slid open. He gestured inside and I walked in. "I'll leave you alone." Kanan said, and he closed the door.

The first thing I did was get a pencil and paper. Old school, I know.
