JAEMIN had no clue of how many days it had been. What he knew though, was how many times the guards entered, some of their names, their schedules, and their next course of action.

These people underestimated me. Jaemin had the sense of hearing even from a faraway distance. And from what he has heard, Jeno was going to be sold by a group of men in the black market.

Here's the thing, Jeno hasn't regained consciousness. Jaemin doesn't know why, but Jeno never once opened his eyes. And honestly, Jaemin is getting scared of it.

He suddenly heard a small click from behind him. Jaemin fingers stopped moving as the chains which were wrapped around his wrists suddenly loosened.

Here it is! He tore the chains out. Finally, his wrists felt free. His eyes then darted towards Jeno. The chains can wait, he thought. Then, he looked at the window with a wooden barrier blocking any light from coming through.

"They didn't think I'd escape, huh?" Jaemin snickered. He then ran towards Jeno and carried him. He went over to the window and punched it open.

He could hear some shuffling outside. The people were about to check on them.

"Let's do this." Jaemin then squeezed Jeno through the hole, before following behind him. He stood up and carried Jeno. His eyes scanned the area.

We're in the woods. The place was filled with trees. The only thing keeping them company was the small cricket sounds and the moonlight.

"They've escaped!" Jaemin looked at the window one more time before teleporting. Luckily, the magic barrier wasn't around anymore.

He then teleported to another place alongside Jeno. Jaemin felt cement instead of the dirt he had felt earlier. He looked around and saw buildings, towers, and some cars passing by.

"The city.." Jaemin mumbled out to himself. He glanced at Jeno. His injuries haven't healed yet, plus, he wasn't showing any signs of waking up.

"Let's get him to the hospital," he said to himself before looking for any taxi.

Jeno didn't know what to feel as the darkness swallowed him whole. All he could remember was seeing suspicious men at the castle hallways. What happened next?

Where's Jaemin?

That question had been on repeat, like a recorder. Constantly bugging his mind. He could hear Jaemin's voice. His harsh, low voice.

He's angry? Why would Jaemin be angry?

Jeno tried to open his eyes. But why couldn't he? It wasn't so hard to open your eyes, but, why was it so difficult for him?

Jeno could hear murmurs. Tons of them. Unfamiliar voices, Jaemin, the sounds of chains, the sounds punching, the sounds of screaming, the sounds of pain.

What's... What's going on?

Jeno felt like he was drowning. He felt his lungs slowly losing oxygen and was slowly getting filled with water. He felt himself dying.

When you face death, your life flashes through your eyes.

But wait.

Where is it?

Where's that little part? Why wasn't my life flashing through as they say?

I'm dying.

"Jeno?" The voice was muffled. But Jeno could hear it loud and clear. The voice echoed through Jeno's head.

His eyes wandered around the void of darkness, searching for whatever, whoever, called his name out.

Where is he?

He? Yes.. Jaemin.

"J-Jaemin..?" Jeno managed to mumble out. His eyes darting to wherever it could look. Searching for that one brunette boy.

"I'm here.." The voice, it came again.

Jeno's pupils dilated as it spotted a small shine at the very and of the void. Slowly, he walked towards it. Soon, walking turned to running.

"Jaemin!" Jeno exclaimed, calling for the guy who had invited him to that ball. That Blood Moon Ball...

Jeno reached his arms out to the light. And then, it blinded his vision.
