JENO felt uncomfortable while sitting on the table with a feeling of someone's gaze on him. Chenle, who was the friend Jaemin was talking about, had been staring at him for more than thirty minutes after their arrival.

"Chenle, get your eyes off him," Jaemin said with a glare on his face. Chenle shook his head and said, "Not until you tell me why you're with him."

"So we're really gonna start when I tell the story?"

"Yeah."

"Fine!" Jaemin rolled his eyes, annoyed of the younger's request. "I was looking for someone to attend the blood moon ball with. One day, I was chatting with Renjun and caught this guy sneaking and eavesdropping our conversation. Then boom, he's here with me now."

Now that Jeno thought of it, the whole reason why he was with Jaemin was because of the fact that he was being nosy, not because Jaemin really wanted Jeno to be with him..

Was Jeno being a burden to him? Maybe it was his fault why Jaemin was also taken away from the castle, or why his father died.

There was a little pound in Jeno's heart as realization hit him like a truck.

"Jeno?" Jaemin looked at him with worry in his eyes. Jeno could see the bags under those mercury orbs of his. Jaemin looked sleep deprived. He'd been so busy looking after Jeno and thinking, he never got to sleep.

"You've been awfully quiet, is something bothering you?" Jaemin asked. Jeno quickly shook his head before drinking the cup of tea that the butler had prepared for them. "Nope, I'm just thinking about something."

Jaemin didn't look satisfied with the answer, but either way, he chose to accept it.

Jaemin looked back at Chenle. "By the way, I'm here for a reason."

"Hm? I already know it," Chenle replied with a grin on his face. "You're gonna tell me to send my men to some place and look for some evidences, aren't you?"

Jaemin sighed. "Of course, you already know.."

Chenle let out a chuckle. "Of course, I'm Zhong Chenle after all!" His confidence was as high as the sky, Jeno doesn't know how he does that. "Anyways, where will you be letting them investigate?"

"Two places..." Jaemin raised his index and his middle finger up. "An abandoned mansion where me and Jeno were imprisoned in for some days and the castle, specifically, my father's room."

Chenle raised a brow. "And what's the catch?" He asked.

"You must make sure that none of the guards or anyone in the castle find out that you're actually investigating," Jaemin said in a low tone. "I'm sure that there's a traitor in the castle, we can't risk them knowing what's going on."

Chenle's breath hitched. "That's going to be kind of impossible. From what I've heard from Renjun, guards would be going into the king's room everytime."

"You can't let Renjun or Mark know anything about this! Not even Jisung!"

"What? Why?"

"We just can't risk it, Chenle."

Chenle sighed. "Fine," he muttered out. "Now, for the price."

"Tell me anything you want. I'll hand it over to you," Jaemin stated. He'd been expecting Chenle to ask that question from the beginning.

Chenle smirked. "Just tell me what your little plan is!" And then, he grinned. "You know I'm that type of guy, Jaem!"

Jaemin grinned. "Yup, plus..." He looked over to Jeno. "He also needs to know about what I'm planning to do anyway."

Jeno watched Jaemin standing up, like he was doing some speech.

"So, part one of my course of action!" Jaemin grinned. "Finding a lead!"

Ello. This chapter was more on Chenle and Jaemin, so I'm very sorry for the lack of Nomin interaction.
