Chapter 7

Waking up screaming really sucks. Waking up with your hands chained up is even worse.

“Ela! Ela! Wake up!” The blurry image of Genna appear in my vision. “You’re having a nightmare again.”

“Isn’t that obvious?” I thought. I’m covered with cold sweat. My heart’s beating so fast, it makes me hard to breath.

“Thank goodness, you’re alright.” She sighed in relief.

“What? What happen? And why I have chains?” I just noticed where am I. I’m in my boring cell again. But this time, almost my whole body was chained to my bed. Why are people so exaggerated?

“Whoa, whoa, take it easy. First, When General Atrom stab the beast on its heart. You suddenly fell onto your knees and clutching your heart like someone stab you and you fell unconscious. Second, he ordered us to chain you so you can’t escape again,” she explained so fast, my dizzy head can’t understand a thing.

“What do you mean?” I asked in confusion.

“I’m mean you’re still very dangerous, Elafros,” a voice said. I know that voice. Atrom suddenly appear behind Genna.

“General! I need to talk to you.” I said urgently.

“Why would you?” he asked with ignorance. Why he doesn’t listen to me just once. This makes my heart ache with anger.

“Aarghh… Just shut up and listen! You stupid bastard!” There it is again. I can feel it. Marvos is right. I need to control this. For them. But first, I need to do something. “Argh… I mean..uugh” Fight it, Ela. You can do this.

“Ela, are you okay?” Genna asked with concern. Atrom just stand there. I’ll just try to ignore his stupid ignorance.

I finally got myself together. “I-I’m fine.. Listen, I know how to kill the beast.”

“How can be you so sure?”

“It doesn’t matter.. Just release me… please,” I pleaded. I need to get out of here. Then again, Atrom just looked with no expression at all. Genna is looking between us, not sure what she could do to help me. I looked down. “Please... I can’t take it anymore.” I noticed a tear escaping my eye. I don’t want more innocent die because of that beast. And most of all, I really guilty all I had done something horrible to them.

“What are you- “he started. But, he was interrupted by a loud explosion outside. At the same time, I felt pain in my chest. It only mean one thing. I look at them and felt scared for the first time since that reckless accident. “The beast is here.”

That made Atrom think really hard. He looked me in the eye to see if I’m really telling the truth. Another explosion went off making dust flew above. “Private Genna, release the prisoner and arm her. Afterwards, follow me outside.”
