Chapter 6

Darkness. That's the only thing I could see or there's absolutely nothing to see. I can feel myself standing. I tried not to panic and think of something. Wait a minute. How did I get here? I remember a riot, screaming people everywhere, and my friends were there. I can still someone shouting my name. That's all.

Suddenly, a tall slender man came along. "Having some trouble, my dear?" His voice was kinda funny, like he's working as comedian or he's just drunk. Well, I don't know if I could consider him an ordinary man because his skin is so pale that a man with poor eyesight can barely see his face. He wore a tuxedo like he's ready to meet an important person. I have a feeling that I'm that important person. And the creepy thing is I think I'd seen that man before.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Oh, you could call me Mavros." He slowly walking around me like a mad scientist examining his work.

"Why am I here?" I demanded.

"Aaww. No introductions? Well, basically, I already know you, Elafros. So we could really skip that one."

"How did you-"

"I'm here to visit my angel. How's your heart, my dear?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." I tried to be brave but this man really scared me.

"Don't you feel the power of the beast? All your senses sharpens. Your strength increase. The way you get angry. The way you feel fear and hatred."

"How do you know that?" He knew? What kind of person is he anyway?

"Because I'm the one who created you."

My eyes widen. I tried to cope that info. Had my heart really been exchange with that vicious creature? I don't know if I can stand it but I managed to say, "Why... why did do this to me?"

"Oh, you should be very grateful to me, girl. You owe me your life," he said.

I stared him in disbelief. "Grateful? How could I ever be grateful after what you did to me?"

He just chuckles like I made a joke for him, "You really don't remember. You think your so-called miracle save you from the fire? Actually, I'm the one who hit you in your little head. That was my chance to take your heart. Exchange it with the heart of Teras. So, let's just say I saved your life. I even gave you powers! "He paused with pleasure and looked at me with his disgusting smile. "Well? Can I now deserve a sweet 'thank you'?"

"No. No! It can't be." I started to back away from him.

"But, it's already done, my dear."

"No! This is just another stupid nightmare! Go away!" I turned around and run away from him.

"Oh and I forgot... You already paid the price! Eternal madness. Hahaha!" His mischievous laugh seems to echo everywhere.
