Silence. Nothing can be heard for her death is too much to comprehend. It even made the survivors speechless. Why did the beast die along with her?

Thump thump.

“Do you hear something?” a survivor asked.

Thump thump

“Is that.. a heartbeat?” another one asked.

Thump thump

“Look over there!” Genna pointed at the spoiled ashes of the Teras. A wind blew the ashes away, revealing something mysterious.

There’s a small diamond glowing faintly… it’s a heart shaped diamond. And it’s beating a sound just like a real heart.

“Is that?”

“I think it is!”

“Her heart!” Genna exclaimed.

Still holding me on his arms, Andrei reached for my fragile heart. They all stared at it in wonder. He looked at my pale face and tried to insert the diamond heart to my chest. They waited for a moment.

I gasped for air and my eyes flew open.

“Ela!” They cheered. For a moment, I just looked at them. “Andrei? Uhh… What happened?” I asked. “You’re okay!” he exclaimed. He hugged me so tight I thought my ribs gonna break. I gladly hugged him back. I’m so glad to see him again.

“Oh come on, Andrei.” I started moving like a robot. “My body is 100 percent functional” He let out a small laugh. Then suddenly, he did something that made my real heart melt. He kissed me in the lips. My eyes went big. I can really feel it so warm and tender. I closed my eyes and kissed him back.

When we broke apart, we had our breaths. We’re smiling at each other like crazy. We stood up. Andrei caught me and carried me to his shoulders. The survivors, especially Genna, cheered for our victory. I can also see the others joining.

For real, I felt like years to feel our overwhelming happiness. Not just happiness, but all the sadness for the fallen soldiers especially their leader, General Atrom.

True emotions are special to each other. It reflects on who we really are. Some people hide their hearts making everyone blind to see their true colors. It’s just like exchanging your heart with a wrong one. Anyways, it’s really good to have my heart back.

The End...

A hand crept onto the ledge and a man emerge from the pit. He rose and dusted himself. He smiled, "Or is it?"
