He was there. Finally to meet his end. He stood at the edge of the cliff, looking to the vast sky, laid in front of him. He reached his hand out, as if he could touch the sky, reach his freedom.
Then he finally let the tears flow down his face. He took a step forward, right at the edge of the cliff. He then stood, feet almost off the edges, dangerously swaying back and forth. The birds stopped singing, as if knowing that something grave will happen. To him, the sun stopped shining. The colors were just black and white. Nothing mattered except for him and the beautiful cliff under him.
And he fell.
As he fell, he frowned. Frowned of not being strong enough to take on the world. For being a coward.
As he fell he cried. Cried of sadness, leaving his family, leaving the world. He cried of happiness, finally able to escaped this cruel world. Cried of worry, worry of what might happen to his people.
But at the last moment, he smiled. Smiled happily because the freedom was finally granted to him. Smiled bitterly because he was finally broken, and there was no way to fix it.
*two weeks later*
America sighed. It was yet another meeting day. Ugh. He brushed his hand through his hair, his cowlick bouncing up as soon as he finished the action. He quickly dressed like normal, his bomber jacket finishing the look. At least he would be able to see England. He was worried because England didn't contact him or any of the other countries after the last meeting.
"Well. Why should I care? He's just a grumpy old man. Anyways, what could possibly go wrong?"
Boy, he was never more wrong in his lifetime.
