They all waited for the one country to come. It was strangely quiet, as if they could sense that something bad has happened. Italy was not being himself, but chewing on his fingernails. Germany wore a worried expression, and Japan was looking around nervously. Canada was shifting around his seat, France was frowning, wearing the expression he usually does not. China wasn't offering Chinese snacks or anything, Russia was not smiling creepily, and America, well, was just sitting there, not moving, not talking, just staring at the wall across from him.

Waking up from the worried trance, Germany cleared his throat. Since the room was really quiet, it was easy for him to get their attention.

"So, should we start the meeting?" He asked the countries sitting around the table, and waited for an answer.

"No way, dude! England isn't here, and he's never late!" America frowned, making an expression that is not usually seen on his face.

Germany sighed, not knowing what to do. He turned his attention to France, who opened his mouth to say something.

"I agree with America. It is not like England to be late," he said seriously, putting on a face that matched his tone. "I say something is wrong. Maybe he's sick or something, but I'm not going to let anyone start the meeting without England 'ere."

There were murmers, a couple of yeses, and a bunch of nods of agreement.

"I-I think we should send some people there?" Canada asked shyly, and for the first time in forever, he was noticed, and by Germany. Germany gave a nod, and turned to the nations before him, clearing his throat once again.

The other countries stared expectantly at him, waiting for something to come out of the German's mouth.

"As Canada here said, we should send some people to find England. It is very unlike him to miss a meeting without contacting somebody beforehand. But we have a meeting to attend. What about we try to send small amounts of people to England's house? We'll pick the people later, after the meeting."

And thus the meeting begin. But what could've been their chance was already gone.

What is done is done. The past is the past, and we can't do anything to change that.
