My hands shook uncontrollable against the railing as I walked down the stairs. Haechan was here. To my surprise I was told by a guard he came alone, without backup. My breathing was shaky as I walked next to Mark. He could sense my nerves as we made our way to Haechan. "It will be okay." Mark let his hand slip into mine. We interlocked our hands and I looked down at them. The reassurance he gave me made me smile as I nodded up to him. The door opened to Marks office and there he was, sitting in Marks seat in front of the large desk. He smiled at the sight of us together and tilted his head as he focused on our hands. Mark let go of me immediately. "Welcome Haechan." Mark walked to the other side of the room and I followed closely behind him. "Thank you for meeting with me." His voice was calm but you could sense the evil behind his persona. It was almost haunting. Although Haechan didn't look frightening at all, in fact he was very handsome man. Mark sent out the guards out of the room due to the lack of manpower Haechan had.

"I do have to apologize for my actions lately." He looked at me. "Especially to you. I hope you weren't upset about the tiny attack I sent out." His voice was sarcastic and I found it hard to hold back a glare from him. The man he sent out still haunted me to this day. I still saw his cold dead face in my dreams. The incident did make me stronger, I was ready to face anything now. I've seen it all now. "Why are you here? Why did you want a meeting?" Mark looked at Haechan in his chair and grimaced. The man smirked. "I think both of you know what I really want here. I've been hiding in the shadows for sometime now." Haechan inspected his nails before looking up again. "Your father Mark was very hopeful in me, but of course you already knew that. You can imagine I was taken back when he left the business in the hands of his incapable son." Mark froze at his words. I stared in confusion as I didnt know there connection ran this deep with history. "I was thinking about it and I was happy enough to ask you to split the industry with me. You know fifty fifty." His eyes transfered over to me as he stood up. "Until I found out you already had a partner." He made his way over to me and his hand trailed to my chin as he grabbed it. He moved my head back in fourth almost inspecting me. I held my breath and closed my eyes. "Pretty little thing isn't she." He chuckled. "Perfect toy for you huh Mark? A project created from a plan in your head i'm assuming." Mark clenched his jaw and stood up. "That's enough let go of her." His voice was stern. Heachen forcefully let go of my chin and I could finally breathe again. "You stole my share of this business. Vanessa isn't it?"

"Nothing was yours to begin with. I didn't steal anything." My voice was thick and filled with anger for the man in front of me. He scoffed and made his way back to Marks seat, the main chair in the office. "Your dad would have had a heart attack of this sight, don't you think so. A girl helping you run this industry." He shook his head and laughed. His legs rose up onto the desk, resting them there. Mark huffed and shook his head. "Well keep in mind this is working. I am making more deals than he ever did." Mark crossed his arms. "Does it feel right though? Do you really feel like your doing the right thing? Bringing her into this mess." Haechans eyes narrowed at Mark. He looked at me solemnly for a split second before returning his attention back on the prey. "This feels good. It looks natural right, me being in this seat." Haechan leaned his head back with his eyes closed. "I belong here. You should be able to see that. Your father sure did." I scoffed and grabbed his attention. He peeked an eye open at me. "If your so confident tell me why Marks father didn't leave the industry to you then." He was enraged by my words and jolted up straight. His face was red and he narrowed his eyes at me.

"You're right. I'm sorry, did I forget my place again?" He continued to stare at me, making me feel uneasy. "Mark come claim your seat back. Let's speak properly. I know you like to play in your 'roles' and give them out to people. That was also your father's specialty." Mark stood up cautiously and made his way to Haechan. He took a seat in the chair and let out a breath. Haechan stood behind his chair with his eyes still locked on me. My breath hitched in my throat as Haechan suddenly pulled out a knife and put it towards Marks neck. I jumped out of my seat and Marks eyes stared at mine in fear as Haechan rested the knife below his chin and grabbed his hair to make him stay in place. Haechan laughed deeply. "No sudden movements. I will cut through your artery." He smiled at me and tilted his head. "How about this for power? How about this for wealth? You can't rely on money for everything!" He yelled and I stumbled back in fear. "It amazes me how you are so incapable Mark." His knife trailed to Marks cheek as he sliced open his flesh. My hand went to my mouth as I gasped. Now that Haechans attention was on Mark I looked around.

My eyes landed on a gun, resting on a bookshelf behind me. It was Marks. I took steps backwards slowly, not causing attention. Mark winced in the hands of Haechan, I almost screamed and had the urge to run toward them. My hand grasped the gun and I picked it up. My arm extended towards the two men and I clicked the safety off. Haechan looked up and grinned at the sight of me. The gun was cold in my hand. The metal was smooth and I felt almost comfortable with it in my presence. I felt the power rush into my body as I held the gun at Haechan.  "Vanessa. You're quite feisty." He chuckled. "Vanessa stop that no-" Mark was cut off when Haechans hand went to his neck, choking him. I looked at Marks bleeding face and my body was filled with rage. "Step away from him." My teeth gritted against one another. "You wouldn't dare press the trigger." Haechan tested me and I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, but I would dare to." I lifted the gun and shot up at the ceiling. Haechan jumped from the sudden action and stepped back, releasing Mark from his grasp. Mark fell to the floor and gasped for air. The gun in my hand shook as Haechan forcefully walked toward me. He pushed me down to the ground and spat on me. I screamed as the gun fell out of my hand and I landed back onto the bookshelf. Books fell and landed on my body, scratching my face and arms. Mark stood up and ran over to me, kneeling at my side. Haechan walked toward the door and stood high above me and Mark. "You will hear from me again Mark. When this bitch isn't around." He glared at my body limp on the ground. "And I will make sure shes not around." Haechan left the premises immediately. I sat there stunned as Mark shook my body worried because I wasn't responding to him. My eyes were locked on the door Haechan just walked out of and my mind went sinister. I should have just killed him.
