Abducted

I gasped for air as the wind got knocked out of me. A sharp pain followed my scream as I felt a fist crash into my stomach. I thrashed my body around in hopes of breaking loose from the tight grip around my body. Suddenly my world went dark as a piece of fabric covered my eyes. Despite the burning pain on my left side, I remained strong-willed. Mark was right. He said I wasn't allowed to leave a guard's sight in case of emergency, but my childish schemes of being free-spirited led me to disobey his orders. My mouth went dry as I was thrown into a car forcefully.

This wasn't just any attack.

This was an act of war.

I always liked to believe that Mark didn't know best. I grew up with no strong authority from my parents, it was only natural for me to rebel against Mark. This situation was different though. This wasn't a matter of games; this was a matter of life or death. My hands ached from the rope he had tied to keep me still. I had never experienced fear like this before. I always had a plan for myself brewing, but now I was left helpless and blind in the back seat of a strangers car. "Let me go!" I screamed. I murmured laugh escaped the driver's lips as I wailed for help. "No one will hear or care about your screams from now on darling. Do yourself a favor and save your voice for Taeil." The man's accent was strong and a silent tear fell down my face.

"I'm so sorry Mark," I whispered to myself as soft sobs left my mouth. "Your pretty face and way of words may have done you some good in Marks cartel, but it won't work in ours." The man's voice was almost melancholy, as if actually felt poorly about the situation. "Where are you taking me?" I formed these words together stiffly as my hands shook uncontrollably. "I can't tell you that darling." Time went on for what seemed like forever as silence ran chills down my spine. The longing for home ached my soul and I wished for Marks touch. My home was Mark grinning brightly from something stupid I had said as his hands carelessly caress my skin. The thought of losing that home frightened me and I began to wonder if I would ever live in that work again.

"He will kill you." My voice was raw and deep. "He will find me and kill all of you until your cartel is burnt into ashes." I began to yell at my captor as he laughed at my words. "You are a fire-headed woman." He said. "We know everything about you, Vanessa. We know your past and your present. We especially know your relationship with the cartel leader Mark. My boss Taeil has worked out a strategic plan involving you my darling." He snarked as I took a sharp breath in. "What is this so-called plan?" On queue, the car stopped. The man chuckled as the door beside me opened.

The fabric was uncovered from my face and my eyes squinted as I adjusted to the light. I crouched away from the new man standing outside the car. "You better get out of the car before he does it for you." My captor said from the driver's seat as I shyly scouted out of the car to face the man. He shut the car door behind me and it sped off, leaving the two of us there. The man stroked a piece of hair behind my shoulder and I pushed him off of me. "Vanessa, don't be too hasty. I don't like rude girls, you better behave." He stared at me in the eyes and I stepped back in fear. "Who are you? Why am I here" I spat as I tried to release my hands from the tied up rope. "I am Taeil."

My whole body tensed as I froze. "I am the leader of this cartel and you are the bait." He smirked at me. "It is nice to finally meet the girl who turned thee Mark Lee upside down." He talked as if he knew Mark and I stared at him in confusion. "Follow me I will take you to your room." His wicked smile turned into a frown when I refused to follow him. "I don't deal with fussy people." He grabbed my wrist tightly and I winced. "You will learn to follow my commands." He grunted as he dragged me behind him. We entered an abandoned-looking building that was surrounded by fields of grass. The inside was dirty with garbage and looked to have been lived in. As Taeil lead me through endless halls and floors I noticed men poking their heads out of doors to watch me.

He placed me in a metal chair and chained my hands to the arms of it. Tears streamed down my face as I pleaded with him to let me go. "Silence!" He yelled and used his hand to strike me across their face. I screamed in pain as I felt a welt on my cheek raise. His cold hand landed on my shoulder and it made me shutter. The echoing voices from the other rooms were hard to ignore as I gritted my teeth. The tips of his fingers trailed along my collar bone and I shuddered at the touch. It was uncomfortable being this still and silent in the presence of a stranger. He seemed to have risked a lot to abduct me. He would have known this already though as he talked about Mark like he knew him.

"I hope you like your accommodation. You will be here for a while." Taeil smiled coldly at me. "What do you want with me!" I screamed as he ignored me. He left me alone in the empty dark room with nothing but the metal chair I was attached to. "Mark." I sobbed as I thrashed my body around in the chair. I screamed at a blank wall as I felt the world slip away from my fingertips.
