I never thought it would happen to me. I thought this kind of love was only in the movies, but the way he loved me changed my world. I am Colette, and this is how I fell in love with Liam Payne.

*6 months earlier*
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" I screamed.
I was with my best friends Kennedy and Gabi.
"NO!" Gabi cried.
We were looking for One Direction tickets online, but they were all sold out. We closed the laptop and trudged to the kitchen in our apartment. Kennedy, Gabi, and I had all been best friends since 8th grade. Gabi and Kennedy were 20, and I was 19. We all had a massive obsession with One Direction.
As I poured two cups of coffee (Gabi doesn't like coffee) Kennedy said, "Even though we can't go to the concert, we can still have a night out."
"Yeah, I guess," Gabi said.
"How about we go to The Salty Cafe?" I said, referencing our favorite restaurant.
"Yes!" Gabi and Kennedy squealed.
"I gotta go. See you later," Kennedy said as she grabbed her keys. Kennedy worked at a small guitar shop where she taught kids how to play acoustic guitar.
"What day do you wanna to go out?" Gabi asked me.
"Well I have finals Monday through Wednesday," I said.
"I have a shift from 11am-9pm on Thursday," Gabi said.
We were trying to avoid going Friday, the day of the concert, but that was the only day we were all free.
"I only have to work til 5pm on Friday, so I guess we'll... Hold on Colette, it's Will," Gabi said as she answered her vibrating phone. "Hey Will..."
I could no longer hear their conversation once she shut the door. Will was Gabi's boyfriend. They had been dating for about 2 years. A little while later, I decided to make pancakes, because I was starving. I poured out a boxed pancake mix and added eggs and milk to the bowl. I stirred it together and poured some batter into the heated pan. Then suddenly, I heard sobbing coming from Gabi's room. I quickly ran over and forced the door open. I looked down and saw Gabi curled up on the floor with her glasses and her phone on the bed. As she looked up at me, I saw her red, puffy eyes filled with tears. She had mascara running down her cheeks.
"Gabi! What happened?" I cried.
"Will...he...broke up with me!" She said as she sniffled.
"Gabi, I'm so sorry," I whispered as I hugged her.
The door creaked open, and Kennedy peeked in looking shocked.
"What's wrong?" She shouted as she sat next to Gabi and me.
Gabi burst into tears again. Kennedy had a concerned look on her face, as if she had done something wrong.
"Will broke up with her," I quietly mumbled as we both patted Gabi's back.
"Why are you back so early?" I asked Kennedy.
"Both of my students rescheduled their lessons," she explained.
"More importantly, why does it smell like smoke?" Gabi said as she lifted her head up out of her knees.
"My pancakes!" I yelled as I sprinted towards the kitchen.
Kennedy and Gabi followed me and we all stopped when we saw huge, orange flames rising from the pan. The smoke detector started making a screeching noise as we all panicked.
"Step back!" I commanded while I grabbed our fire extinguisher.
I sprayed the white substance, and the fire went out. We all sighed in relief.
"This is turned out to be the worst morning ever!" I cried.
Little did I know, a very good thing would be happening to me soon.
