Chapter 53

After a little trip to the bakery, Hayley picked up Hope and they drove back to New Orleans, the twins had dinner and played for some hours before going to bed. I was sitting in my study when I suddenly got a call from Rebekah. I picked up and she said, „Niklaus is out of his mind."

„Woah hold up, what happened?" I asked her.

„He talked to Elijah and-" when I interrupted her and asked, „How is he?"

„He is still in France. Nik said he is happy." Rebekah told me making me smile.

„So because Nik and Elijah talked something bloody happened?" I asked.

„Literally, I was bathing in blood." She told me. „Did Hayley told you about Hope?" I asked her when she said concerned said no. „Hope got suspended because she turned a werewolf into a hybrid." I said when Rebekah exclaimed, „She did what?!"

„I know right, Hayley brought her back to New Orleans." I told her.

„It's because of Niklaus isn't it? She wouldn't act like that." Rebekah said when I just nodded and said, „What else, anyway I gotta go." when she said, „Wait, I have to tell you something."

„Okayy." I said concerned when she said, „Marcel proposed to me-" but before she finished her sentence I jumped out of my chair and excitedly said, „Oh my god, finally you said yes right."

„Well I didn't say yes nor no." Rebekah told me.

„Why? You love him he loves you." I said when she said, „That's not enough of a reason-" when I again cut her off saying, „Is it because we are apart?" but before Rebekah could answer that I said, „Don't make the same mistake sister. I've told Tyler that I wanted to wait until our family is together, but at the end of the day it's your choice."

„Good night, Blair." Rebekah then said and I said, „Good night." and hung up.

Few days past and I just gave the twins something to eat when my phone rang. I took my phone from the kitchen island reading, Niklaus. I pick up the phone saying, „Niklaus?"

„I need you to pick up Hope and bring her back to school." Niklaus said when I stood up from my bed and saying, „Why what happened?"

„I'll explain it to you when you're here." He said and hung up. I put my phone down and looked for the twins and then Aireen. I went towards them to the round dining table in the kitchen and told them, „Elias, Reign I have to go and pick up your cousin, Hope."

„Where is she?" Reign asked when Elias said, „She in New Orleans where aunt Freya lives."

„Right, I will be back my tomorrow okay? Nana will drive you to school and I will pick you up." I told them when Aireen asked, „When are you leaving?"

„I will leave right now." I said when the twins stood up went up to me. I hugged Elias then Reign then Aireen before driving off to the Greenbrier Valley Airport where a private jet awaits for me to fly me to New Orleans. At the airport in New Orleans I took a rental car and drove to the compound. I arrived around 1am seeing Hope on the couch in the courtyard when she jumped out of the couch and said, „Finally you are here."

„I thought you would be sleeping and that we go back tomorrow." I said to her when she said, „Well it is the next day, let's go." She said and went towards my car when Freya showed up.

„Hi, little sister." She said and I said, „Hi, where is Niklaus?"

„Looking for Hayley." Freya said when I widen my eyes in confusion and asked, „What happened?" when Freya went up to me and said, „I'll call you when you are back home." I shook my head and said, „I payed for a private jet to get me to New Orleans as soon as possible to find out that Hayley is missing and no one what's to explain what is going on."

„Aunt Blair, I want to go!" Hope exclaimed when I just gave in and said, „Fine I want a message right away, bye sister." and left the compound. I unlocked the car and Hope jumped in when I started the engine and drove off I looked to Hope and asked, „What happened?"

„I'm tired." She said and turned her head towards the streets putting her forehead against the window. I drove to back to the airport when Hope asked me, „We are flying back home?"

„You think I drive 15 hours to get to you as soon as possible." I said and drove towards the rental station. I gave the car back and we went to the jet when Hope said, „Nice a private jet."

„I would say everything for my favorite niece, but right now you are not my favorite." I said and got into the plain. „You only have one niece." She said and sat down next to me.

„Tell me Hope, what happened, remember I'm your auntie beauty." I said to make her laugh. She laughed and then started to cry when I pushed her towards me to hug me when the pilot came, „Ms. Mikaelson welcome back, we are ready to take off." I nodded when Hope wiped her tears away when I told her, „You have 3 hours." Hope told me what happened in New Orleans, starting from why she sold that Henry kid her blood. She needed that money to visit her Dad in Europe, but then uncle Kol gave her an idea to bring Niklaus back to her which was indirectly. She put Hayley into a sleeping and cloaked spell and put her into a coven with the help of Henry, because Henry was sired to her. Niklaus found out that Hope took Hayley and then went to that church where Hayley hid her to find out that Hayley was gone. But the real reason why Hope needed to go back to Mystic Falls was when she is with her Dad water turns into blood and snakes were coming out from everywhere and then she rounded it up telling me that someone killed Henry.

„Well all of that happened in just a few days." Hope said when I looked at her and said, „There is something else, what did your father tell you, because you are hurting."

„He said that I'm broken." Hope told me when suddenly my heart felt heavy, „Oh, Hope honey. I'm sure he doesn't mean it that way. Your father is a talker not a thinker." I said and hugged her tightly from the side. The next two hours Hope slept and then in the car on the way to my house, because I told her that she can go back to school tomorrow and I will talk to Alaric about it. When we arrived we saw the twins going into Aireen's car to go to school. We got out of the car and said hello to my children, when I kissed them on the forehead and said, „I will pick you up, okay." They nodded and I watch them with Aireen driving to school while Hope went into the house.

„You can rest in any guest bedroom or in my room." I said to Hope when she went up the stairs. I went towards my study and opened my laptop reading May 2, 2026. I took my phone from my pocket and called Aireen asking, „Do you know what day is today?"

„Yes, today is May 2." She said and I waited when she suddenly said, „Today is Hope's birthday." I nodded when I asked, „Could you open the bakery a little later today and come home with a cake?"

„Sure, I will." She said and we hung up. I went upstairs seeing Hope sleeping in my bed when I came back down stairs to the kitchen seeing Aireen putting down the cake on the counter saying, „Red velvet cake with vanilla-buttercream and I bought candles too." when she turned towards me and asked, „How should we do this?"

„Okay let's give her an hour more to sleep then we will surprise her with this cake then I'll take her shopping and then lunch, then at 3 will go back to the boarding school. And lastly, we will be having an picnic at the Salvatore garden with you." I said when she nodded and said, „I will just join you guys at the picnic. I have to go and open the bakery." I nodded and thanked her with a hug. I then took out my phone and texted all my siblings to gratulate Hope to her birthday since every single one of us forgot it. An hour later I heard Hope on the phone with Rebekah, Kol and Freya when I took the cake out of the fridge and put some candles on it. I vampire speeded up the stairs and went into the master bedroom while using a lighter to lit the candle and sang the Happy Birthday Song with my siblings who where on FaceTime. I went on the bed and said, „Make a wish." Hope closed her eyes and blew out the candle. I put the cake on the nightstand and hugged her tightly saying, „Happy Birthday, honey."

„Thank you aunt Blair." She said when we pull apart.

„So brother and sisters thank you for joining us, but I'm taking Hope shopping." I said when they all said their goodbye and hung up.

„You don't have to take me shopping." Hope said when I said, „What?! Of course we go, but first cake." and stood up taking the cake saying, „Get ready, I will wait in the kitchen."
