"James~" Name hummed happily snuggling into me, we wereboth still naked from our mating, under the blanket she was so fondof. When it came time to fall asleep we would kick the multicoloredblanket to the bottom of our bed, another word from her we haveadopted, it was so strange that she had two words 'home' and 'bed'where we only had one, nest, which could be either depending on thecontext. Other things she had no words for, like a nova. Other thingsshe had that we had no words for; like butcher, someone who takes thecarcasses from hunters and preps it for everyone else.

"I love you, Name."

"I love you to, James" She whispered pressing her lips tomine in the kiss she loved so much. She wrapped her arms around myneck snuggling and blinked, freezing as we heard the crying. "Theomust be fussy. Okay, let me up." She squirmed and I moved tolet her up and she stretched before standing, grabbing the silkyfabric she called a robe that she enjoyed wearing when getting up.

Name had nearly no temperature modulation, her people didn't have theability to handle space, not even too high into the sky either. Eventoo hot would cause her to sweat and even become delirious if it wastoo bad. I could keep her warm or cool depending on what she neededand so she took to sleeping with absolutely no clothing safe andsound under my wings. Now that Theodore was a Nestling he no longerneeded to sleep in her arms and my wings so he had his own nest, where if we were lucky he would have younger siblings to sleep inthere with him, as was custom for a brood that were older than aHatchling to sleep together in their own nest. She loved Theodore, hewas her son as much as he was mine, but she still wanted us to havechildren of our own, little siblings for him as well.

Name had three different sets of outfits, she needed them, sure whilewe slept I could be the temperature modulation that she needed, butwhen I was gone doing the duties of chief she was left alone in thiscold nest, the only thing that was good about being in the nest isthat it as deep enough from the opening, to protect both the PrimaryNest as well as the Brood Nest. The trees were not like the ones inour home world that was now gone; the trees there were growing withthick trunks and the long branches that held the baskets which madeeasy nests. So we had made several different nests, each it matteredwho was planned to be staying in that nest.

Together Name and I had planned this nest, the opening that was whatwe started with, it was where we greeted people and kept the thingsthat Name needed to keep her warm but not too warm. Above the roomwas a hole that led to our nest and from there a archway to the nestfor our brood. Below it was the cauldron and spit roast that she usedto prepare our food. Name couldn't fly, obviously, but I didn't wanther to feel trapped where she couldn't leave a level without me,especially if something happened while I was away, I carved littlerungs that she could climb up and down in. It worried me but after awhile I saw that she was fine and could climb, especially now thatTheodore could fly on his own, I didn't trust him to fly without meor someone else with him outside of the nest, and it made Namenervous as well.

There were clothing that covered almost every bit of her body and washeavy fabric, then there were short and light sheer clothing andfinally clothing that was not as light as one but not as heavy as theother. When it was cold or wet from rain she wore the heavy clothing, when it was hot she wore the light clothing and when it wasn'tparticularly cold or hot she wore the clothing that wasn't light norheavy.

Right now it was warm and she put on the smooth robe that she wrappedaround her (physique) (skin tone) body tying the sash around herwaist before heading to see what Theodore needed, I had to admit Ienjoyed it more than the other robe, it felt nicer.
