Sunrays and Moonbeams

Verdict

"Guilty." I growled out and glared at Karen who was screechingenough that finally Leonardo snaps and shoves some fabric into hermouth.

"Just shut up." He growled out and I nodded my thanks beforeturning to my darling Name. She was in Damien's arms. She wasobviously shaky and I worried about her but when I came towards hershe gave a whimper and hid her face against Damien.

"Konrad?" Damien was confused and I looked down, seeing theshaking of Name who held Theodore to her tightly. He was holding toher sensing her fear, my poor beloved but she flinched from me.

"It's okay Name," I cooed though I wasn't sure if she understoodexactly what I was saying. It hurt to see her afraid of me again, wehad gotten so far. She shared food with me, she willing moved towardsme to sleep, she would keep holding onto me even when she didn't haveto. Now she was afraid.

How can she? Haven't I proven myself to her? Why was she so scared ofme I-Quiet Konrad, Name has to be terrified. She has no wings.Karen pushed her, tried to kill her. She is obviouslyterrified. James warned me and I took a deep breath.

"Name does not understand our language, and can not sense mates thesame way we do." I explained and immediately Damien was cooing toher in a brotherly way and that soothed me even more. I took Damienas my advisor and it was important that he care for my mate andhatchling just like I would for his own.

"Konrad, is it maybe that you're covered in blood?" Stephan saidgently and I looked down seeing that my chest, waist and even part ofmy leggings were covered in blood. So were my hands, wrists and allthe way up to the splashes looking like they almost hit to my elbows.Now that I am focusing on it I realize the blood is dried and tackyand all together unpleasant. It was always what James, and I agreewith him, hated most of all being a hunter is the drying blood.Especially when it dried fully it was hard to clean.

"Our laws say that Name should be the one to decide herpunishment." Lenore said looking between Name and myself beforefrowning, "this has not happened before..."

"As her mate, Konrad you'll have to make the choice, it's the bestwe can do." Leonardo said, "we can't understand her and sheprobably can't understand us." He then looked between Karen andmyself and I glared turning to Lenore.

"Lenore, if you would mind getting everyone? I want them to see thefirst ending of what will happen if you break our laws. Especially ifanyone were to hurt my Name." I growled out and she nodded startingto fly but Damien, who was still trying to calm Name down as wasKlarissa, who was now holding her instead of Damien,

"Konrad, I do not think that is a good idea?"

"What?!" I growled out but as I saw Name flinch holding ontoTheodore more from my tone. I take a deep breath and repeated myself,"what?" but in a much calmer tone and she seems to relax fromthat and I am reminded how she bases her thoughts and feelings onsomething on me, she trusts me and is trying to go by what I wasdoing. I was reminded that she was not just looking different andnot understanding our language or me able to understand her, but thatshe had no idea what was happening and had come to trust and rely onme to know if something was safe.
