Chapter 6: Making amends

After I dropped Jace off, I debated on whether to go home or to leave. I went back home, knowing Hunter was probably worried sick. I grabbed my luggage and walked into the house. I stopped in my tracks when I heard voices, yelling at each other.
"Mom, she's my fiancée, I love her. You can't keep treating her like sh- crap." I hear Hunter yell.

"Why, can't I have an opinion?" His mom asked.

"That's not what I'm saying. Just respect her. How many times have we had this conversation?" He asked her.
He actually talked to his mom for me. I yelled at him, for nothing. I knew wedding planning would bring out the worse in us. Just not this quick.
I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist.
"Babe, you scared me sensely." I barely heard Hunter. He talked below a whisper. I found myself melting to his touch and wrapping my arms around his torso.

"I'm sorry. I just needed air." I said. I pulled away from him and looked at him. Getting lost in his eyes like I always do. I felt myself closing the distance between us, and his lips on mine. The kiss was slow and passionate. Something I like.

"Ahem." I heard someone clearing their voice. I pulled away against my will and stared at Hunter's dad.

"We're leaving." He said. He walked over, gave me a hug, then Hunter, and walked out the house. Hunter, and I sat down so I thought it was a good time to talk to him.

"What happen with your mom?" I asked playing with his large fingers.

"Everything." He said kissing my forehead.

"Let's just head to bed." He said standing up and offering me his hand. I took it and he led me into the bedroom. He gave me on of his shirts. Something he knows I love, because they are oversized. I laid down and felt the bed dip, and his arm around me.
"Goodnight babe." He whispered kissing my forehead.

"Goodnight." I sighed, letting sleep take over me.

I woke up by myself. I walked into the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and put my hair in a messy bun. I walked into the kitchen, and poured myself some coffee. I saw Hunter walk in the kitchen on the phone. I gave him a kiss, and poured him some coffee.
"How high is his fever?" He asked into the phone. I handed him the coffee and he mouthed a 'thank you'. The person on the line said something and he nodded.
"I'll be in the office today, just bring him in. Have a good day, Ms. Jones." He hung up the phone and smiled at me.

"Hey sleeping beauty." He said leaning over the counter and giving me a kiss.

"Hey babe. You going to work today?" I asked, even though I knew the answer.

"Yeah, baby Jeremy is sick, and his mom is freaking. So, I gotta run." He gives me a kiss and walks out the door.

"Love you." I shout.

"Love you too." He shouts back. I sit on the counter and call my best friends. Taylor, Ashley, Megan, Sky, and Dylan. I told them about an emergency get together and they agreed. We talked about meeting up at Olive Garden. I haven't told them about the engagement and its time.
I finished off my coffee, and washed the dish out. Next, I took a shower. When I got out I put on some tights, with a oversized sweater with an owl on it, and some black sandals. (Probably a weird outfit for a grown up, but who cares?).

"Hey y'all. Sorry I'm late." I said going each girl a hug.

"You're always late, nothing new." Sky said. Making everyone laugh. I sat down and grabbed a meno. The waitress came and got our order, and we just caught up on life. How we were doing. How was work. The basic things.
"So, I have an announcement." I said getting everyone's attention.

"This must be good." Dylan said.

"Im-"

"Pregnant!" Taylor interrupted me.

"No, engaged. I'm engaged. And, I wanted to know if you all would be my bridesmaids?" I asked. They all started screaming, and telling me congratulations.

"I'm so ready. I knew that boy would pop the question, sooner or later." Ashley said.
Megan's phone rang and she had to leave. She was quiet the whole time and we were worried.

"She's never quiet." Sky says.

"Did she tell you anything?" Dylan asked me.

"No, but I'll talk to her." I say as I start getting up.
"As much as I love y'all, I have to start planning the wedding. I will call y'all for dress shopping soon." I say as I hug everyone, and put money on the table for my meal.

"Love you, and tell Hunter hi." Ashley says.

"Of course, love y'all too." I say as I walk out.
