Chapter 5 Divorced before Married

I turned into the graveyard and stopped at the tombstone. I dropped down beside it and starred at it.

"Hey dad, I'm having a rough time as you see. That woman just doesn't like me. What should I do." I heard the trees moving in the wind.

"I should give us some time apart. I don't want to call off the wedding or leave him, but his mom will do everything she can to break us up." I got up and walked to the car, and my phone started going off it said Hunter😘, I answered it.

"Babe?" he asked.

"Hey Hunter." I say.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I think we should take a break, like a week apart would do us good." I say.

"Are you saying you don't want to get married?"

"No, it's just your mom. I need a break from us, to find myself."

"It's your decision, just be careful."

"Okay, love you."

"Love you too." I hung up the phone and started to think about where I could go. I need clothes and I need to get out of town completely. Maybe, if I go get clothes and my wallet. Take off of work for awhile, I could go to the town next to us. That's a good 2 hours. That's my plan.

"Please don't try to change my mind." I said to Hunter while packing my bags.

"I'm not." he said leaning against the doorframe. "But, why do you want to leave. Maybe if you and m-"

"I'm not spending time with that bi-her." I say. I zipped up the bag and went to hug Hunter. "You should know I love you." I say.

"Forever."

"And always." I give him a kiss and go to my car. Am I making the right decision. I started the car and drove to my moms. I knocked on the door and Jace answered.

"Hey." he said.

"Hey, do you want to come out of town with me?" I asked.

"Sure for how long?"

"A week. Just me and you." I say.

"Yeah, let me gather my things. Does this h-"

"I'll tell you in the car." I interrupt him. He ran up stairs and came down with his luggage.

"Let's go." I say walking to the door and out the car. We get in and I start driving.

"Why are you leaving?" he asked.

"I told Hunter I want a break." I say.

"Is it because of his mother?" He asked.

"Yes, I don't know why she doesn't like me. It just hurts you know?"

"How do you think I feel with mom. Everything I want to do she protests. But I still do it. Like you, turn the damn car around. Hunter loves you, his mother doesn't have too. Turn around drop me off at moms and go home to your fiancé and try to make a baby." Jace chuckles at his own words.

"Okay, you win." I say making a u-turn heading to my moms."
