"Just one drink." I tell the woman behind the counter. where the hell is he? Bryan was suppose to be here so long ago. We're just meeting up for a little while to talk about life. Sarah, and him just had a baby, so he barely gets out anymore. Which is fine with me. That baby and his wife comes first, and I accepted that. Just like he will accept it. I feel a pat on my back and turn around to see Bryan.
"Bout time, fucker." I joke. the woman brings me my beer.
"That's what happens when you have a baby." he smiles at the mention of Isaac.
"How is my little man?" I ask. Isaac is Bryan's miracle. Sarah could not keep Bryan in control. Yes he loved her, he married her. Bryan just couldn't give up his young life. Partying, drinking, staying out late. But, when she told him she was pregnant, he gave up his partying life. Yes, we'll come and get a drink, once in a while. But, Isaac has Bryan on his feet.
"Great man. I didn't know being a father would feel this great." he tells me.
"I can't wait until Belle starts popping them out." He looks at me like I'm retarded.
"Is she ready after all that happened." he's referring to the miscarriage.
"Yeah, we talked about it the other day. The only reason she didn't talk to me was because, she thought I blamed her. But she can't run away this time. We're going to be married." I rant. It really hurt when she didn't talk to me. I was a lost cause without her. If only she would've knew that.
"Okay man. I know women, they are weird creatures." he points his beer over at the table with the couple arguing.
"One word and they explode." he takes a swig of his beer.
"That girl is only mad because he brought her here for a date." We look at each other and laugh. This is just like old times. Not before the marriage and baby carriage, but college. So, before the marriage and baby carriage. We had to grow up and smell the roses life is hard work. It always will be.
"How's wedding and things."
"Well, the rehearsal is in a couple of days then I can't see her for three days afterwards, but besides that great."
"Dude, your bachelor party is going to be awesome. I'm already planning it. Isaac may be there so no strippers."
"If rather have it being Isaac and us having a couple beers and watching the game, then strippers."
"Then, it's settled."
"Not that I don't want him there, by why are we babysitting?"
"My parents are out of town, and her parents don't live in close, and Sarah deserves a day to have fun."
"Which means you will have to deal with a baby and drunk wife."
"I can't complain, how many times have I stumbled in the house drunk on her and she took care of me. Plus, we are married that's my job."
"I like how you lost some of your selfish habits."
"Don't push it. You may be getting married, but I'll ruin that pretty little face of yours." I laugh at him. My phone rings and I look down to see Belle Boo.
"It's Isabelle. I got to go." I stand up, put my money down for my drunk and bro-hug Bryan.
"Be safe. I got to pee, then I'll head out too."
"Kay, give Isaac a hug for me and tell Sarah hi."
"Tell Belle hi." I walk out and go to my car. The drive from the bar to my house is short. I pull into the driveway and walk into the house.
"Belle?" I shout.
"In here." She shouts back. I follow her voice into the bedroom. I enter and she's pacing back and fourth. An act that she's nervous.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Is this dress, okay?" I asked. She's wearing a black with an opened back, it goes down to her knees and let me tell you she looks sexy. She's always worried about herself for no reason she's perfect in my eyes. I would take her right now, if she didn't have to leave.
"You look fine, sexy even." I tell her. This dress really compliments her boobs, it makes them pop out.
"Okay, thanks. I'm running late already but I love you." she runs pass me kisses me and put her shoes.
"Love you too." I tell back. House to myself for the whole night, and what to do. I decide to sit down and watch the game. Before I know it, I'm asleep.
