a ghost called sadness
paid me a visit at nightI shouldn't have let him in
but he was already insideI didn't dare to send him away
thus with me, he stayedthat night he reminded me
of all the things I'd rather forgetmemories of loved ones
who never loved me oncecrushed dreams from long ago
and broken promises slowly subsidemy heart carries with her
a lifetime of ache insideand the sadness still lingers
in the shivering air outsideit's been hours and I'm still here
soaked in moonlit tearsit's been days and I wonder
oh, when this will be over- April 20th, 2020 (rewritten)
