XII. the goddess artemis

I'll always choose artemis over aphrodite

how the moon and the stars shine
in her effervescent brilliance
when she weaves constellations
onto the black canvas of the night

her graceful motions in the dark
when she chases adventure
with her golden shaft and arrows
through the mountains and evergreen
staring death and danger in their eyes

or when she licks a sinner's blood
of her soft lips like sweet victory

venus looks ever so beautiful in space
but beauty and lust are not what I crave
dancing in the dark, midnight romance
stargazing in my lover's eyes
is how I wish to love and be loved
